I found it completely fascinating to see what exactly your work day entails. Maybe because my work is structured in a very different way (I'm a bookseller) and this seems so foreign to me 😅 so yes, it is interesting!

Oh man it's so nice watching a vlog where things go wrong! So often vlogs feel either perfect or really dramatic, and it's rare to just hear normal life problems. Thanks Hannah!

I squealed when you danced around your studio to complete the stress cycle - reading about that concept in 'Burnout' by Emily and Amelia Nagoski absolutely changed my life. I absolutely love this kind of video and seeing the behind-the-scenes realities of what goes into your work, and I really appreciate you showing us things going wrong that are out of your control and just having to deal. (Although I do remember you talking in a different video about not wanting to have to, like, perform suffering and imperfections for your audience, so now I want to be nosy about where your boundaries are around that - but obvs no pressure to talk about that rn!) Also, for other folks who want to get to that 'understanding enough so you can explain it to a friend' level when it comes to taxes and money stuff, I really recommend 'You're the Business: How to Build a Successful Career When You Strike Out Alone' by Anna Codrea-Rado! 🧡⭐

Personally I thought this was very interesting! I think we like to imagine jobs as more glamorous than they are which is why I like to ask people what the majority of their work actually entails (most people I know just say emails and spreadsheets lol).

Hey Hannah! I’m a podcast editor, and just wanted to say don’t stress about the drilling noise, as you can usually get those constant noises out in post-production if need be. I’m a podcast editor\producer at 1Password and happy to help should ever you need it! x

i was in full blown meltdown mode, desperately searching youtube for something to distract me from the fact that i just missed an attempt at a remotely proctored exam because of technical difficulties... one of three more i need to take before i can get my practice license as a pharmacy technician.
and then hannah shows up on my feed, telling me in her thumbnail "IT WAS OUT OF MY CONTROL" and i knew i could just sink into a vlog where i could feel not alone. we keep moving hannah. we adapt. we are PROBLEM SOLVERS. we just need to have a little freakout, too. it's part of the process

Oh, I recently had to do a similar thing to you regarding the workshop. I had to prepare one for the scouts jamboree, which means a lot of tents, I had no idea how many people were going to attend and how much technology is going to be available... Luckily I knew the topic really well but it was a challenge. And it felt good to complete it, hoping the same happens for you! 💛

It's eye opening to see how much work you did even on a bad week 😅 I'm a disabled author and parent with executive function issues so I've literally had weeks were I don't manage anything useful at all. I wish I had other people to work with because that would help so much!
Also took me a minute to figure out why losing your keys would be a problem if you were at home 😆 I've never lived in a shared building or had an auto locking door which is definitely a good thing for me because I would be locked out for 99% of my life

  • @intello94

    This video was
Entertaining. Possibly because of some of the "drama" but obviously that feels weird because I don't want things to go wrong in your life
Informative. What does the life of a mum+content creator who works 4 days a week look like
Helpful/inspiring. For me in my very different job (9-5 in an office) to set myself realistic to do lists and get them done. And to complete the stress cycle. Such a helpful reminder. And understand my finances.
Such a gem of a video Hannah! Thanks!

Noise cancelling headphones work by applying an inverted copy of the ambient noise. Might it help the sound edit to set up a separate mic to record the ambient noise for them to basically do that in post? I expect it would need to be directional mics.

This was so interesting to watch, thank you! You might already have noticed this by now if the UK is the same as the Netherlands, but construction workers usually start between 7 and 8 in the morning here and finish work around 4 in the afternoon, so I was not surprised when the noise stopped! It's still really annoying when you have to record at other times but you accidentally planned that podcast recording at the perfect time of day

it's weird cos in all of the clips of you inside the studio, it sounds totally fine! maybe use the camera/mic you used to record this vlog? 😂 there's always SOME kind of ambient white noise, and it's absolutely not disruptive, at least on these clips!

No idea if this helps you, but maybe things like Nvidia RTX Voice can remove stuff like this, but not sure how well it works for your usecase. Also it would require a Nvidia Graphics Card, but I am sure there are similar alternatives.
    Edit:
For the key problem, A great alternative for this are Smart Door Locks. There are some that work with flats, too. We have a Nuki Door Lock + Nuki Opener. It also allows for sharing access with people, even through timetables.

Sorry for being critical but it always makes me sad when parents leave their children at day care at a young age for many hours. From my research it’s generally a very stressful experience for young children and I just wish young parents would get the support and knowledge to be with their children at this critical age. Attachment is a human need and if we don’t get it the way we need it - being close to our attachment people all the time - as young children we’ll suffer because of it for the rest of our lives. Anyway not trying to blame anyone just trying raise some awareness. They are only this young for such a short time, we as a society should make space and time for their needs above all else

  • @rtd1791

I don’t understand how one accidentally takes someone else’s keys. I store mine clipped inside my bag. It would be extra work to get them out. Plus everyone else in my family hates the weight of my keychain. I made it in shop class my senior year of high school. That was like forty years ago. It’s really the only keychain I’ve ever had, but I’ve never lost my keys either. And no one ever confuses their keys for mine.
Maybe Hannah and Dan have similar key sets and store them in a dish at home? Never understood that habit, but I know many do it that way. I have to have my keys in their rightful home except when they are in use. Keys clipped in bag and bag inside bedroom closet. Rare exceptions.
Can you tell losing keys causes me anxiety? What gave it away?

    • @mac8697

People have more than one bag and switch bags from day to day. People carry keys in their pockets. People have different sets of keys for different purposes (home, work, parent's home...). People are human and can make mistakes.

Dish by the door works best for me because I definitely do not use the same bag every day, or often a bag at all! Sounds like the issue was just that the key rings look too similar and now Hannah is fixing it, problem solved
