The little voices inside Riley’s head know her inside and out-but next summer, everything changes when Disney and Pixar’s “Inside Out 2” introduces a new Emotion: Anxiety. According to director Kelsey Mann, the new character promises to stir things up within headquarters. “Anxiety, voiced by Maya Hawke, might be new to the crew, but she’s not really the type to take a back seat,” said Mann. “That makes a lot of sense if you think about it in terms of what goes on inside all our minds.”
Disney and Pixar’s “Inside Out 2” returns to the mind of newly minted teenager Riley just as headquarters is undergoing a sudden demolition to make room for something entirely unexpected: new Emotions! Joy, Sadness, Anger, Fear and Disgust, who’ve long been running a successful operation by all accounts, aren’t sure how to feel when Anxiety shows up. And it looks like she’s not alone. Maya Hawke lends her voice to Anxiety, alongside Amy Poehler as Joy, Phyllis Smith as Sadness, Lewis Black as Anger, Tony Hale as Fear, and Liza Lapira as Disgust. 2:18 Sadness is responsible for empathy, so it makes sense that she’s the first to see that something’s wrong with Joy. And I get what’s happening. If you have dealt with depression, you can understand. You feel like you can’t feel as happy as you did before, and it’s not like it’s impossible for you to feel happy, it just feels muted and less like the joy you felt as a child. You feel like your happiness is constantly flickering like a broken light or something. Joy in this is literally flickering instead of being constantly glowing, like usual. It reminds me of getting depression.
*Fun Fact: it could be that sacrifice of Bing Bong, listening will seem stupid, but for me it made sense. Joy being the leader, she has to keep stable and memorable memories no, maybe that kind of energy has consumed her and failed.*
There was actually a scrapped idea of Joy dying.......at least that's what I saw in the concept art book, so maybe this was a foreshadowing of what was going to happen......thank godness that was scrapped......she's my favourite character and if they kept that idea it probably would have been the saddest scene ever and I would have been crying for hours 😭, glad that didn't happened
Yeah, but maybe they bring this idea back for Inside Out 3 (if they’ll make it) 😢

@@Itsjustmevaniii I mean.....we don't know if it's going to happen in the third part, but there's people saying that it might happen. I want to think that it won't happen because you cannot live without joy, but seeing that they wanted to kill Joy in the second part.......I don't even want to imagine that tbh 😰😭

Is there a deleted scene with Anger, Disgust and Fear crying while blaming themselves for failing Riley, and Joy saying that she's really no good for her while making herself feel small?

What happened to joy in this deleted scene almost felt similar to what almost happened to tinker bell
This absolutely should have been in the movie. All of those moments where Joy breaks down due to fear of not being need anymore and especially the ending would have made far more sense

That’s kinda how they included this idea still, just the other way around, so that’s cool.

I actually think that keeping this scene would make a lot of Joy's worries make a lot more sense in the film. Great movie, but yeah her worries of not being needed could have been focused on a bit more in this way.

@@The-Vappy she is also my favorite emotion and I really like her and I want her to stay but the fact that they could’ve make her fade away for a little would be cool because it would show how Riley is growing up and feeling less and less joy which would show that Riley doesn’t need joy as much as she used to
@@iforgothowtoexist Everyone still needs Joy in their life. It's just that the burden of growing up makes finding moments of Joy more difficult. So, I can see why Joy would lose her glow or something, but I don't want her to disappear outright 🥺

@@The-Vappy Like I said, I also wouldnt be happy if she completely disappears of the story. But the fact that she was "broken" would be sooo interesting to see. Like for example, if they create inside out 3, and then Riley is not a teen anymore, she is like an adult. Then joy starts disappearing for a bit because Riley’s life is getting more though and more difficult so it’s getting hard for Joy to make her happy. Then Joy would be sad and I would be sad too (I love sad movies) and then after like a moment she completely disappears…. And every other emotions are sad… But then she comes back, she would shine even more 🤭🤭🤭 (that’s why I would like to watch joy disappearing it would be so interesting omggg)
