I JUST REALIZED HOW MEANINGFUL SOME OF THESE LYRICS ARE. The beginning of the song is just talking about Daisuke as a child and how he 'sets out' his journey to discover the truth about his mother's death; 'A sympathy of the tired lost child' It talks about finding his current location, traffic lights etc, but also later telling us how he's getting nowhere with the red lights, the comments like 'too early' or 'no way'. Until.... 'Run through the night or bet on the dawn' represents Daisuke and Haru; Daisuke has dark hair and silver eyes, representing the night time and the moon, while Haru has golden-ish hair and eyes that resemble the yellow hue of dawn as the sun rises. It also represents how Haru comes into Daisuke's life, bringing light to his dark world and lighting the way; breaking out of him chasing after dead ends or 'going round and round' and giving him hope as long as he keeps trusting him; 'betting' on him. In the rap, 'The ray is chasing for one truth' represents Haru and his steadfast determination. 'The way is waiting for lighting' represents Daisuke, still waiting in the dark until Haru came along and showed the way. Then later, the lyrics can be applied to both Daisuke and Haru, talking about how they were in despair and wanted to give up. Haru wanting to 'retire' aka not be a cop anymore due to his trauma, and Daisuke becoming exhausted, pushing people away and becoming more apathetic due to his parents' deaths. 'The ray of hope will be flaming', 'Invite to the unpaved road' Finally, there's light and there's a path, though unfamiliar, to take. That brings us to the next set. This slaps so HARD! I found this anime while scrolling through an anime catalogue and it stuck out to me. Later, an ffxiv guildmate recommended it to me lol. A very fun watch!
When I watched the first episode, I didn't like this OP. I didn't know what to think of it. Then when I watched the second episode, I loved it. I'm guessing I was just a little surprised with the music since it slammed in my face because I'm not used to that style. Now I think it's really cool.
