She's on track to never have children. What she will have is a burn out melt down crash by 40 but maybe she'll have a mortgaged home by then and can brag she "owns" a home and this intimidates men. A woman being a doctor usually means she is 30+ and mired in debt. My friend makes $600,000 per year in law practice. He has no desire to marry a broke indebted doctor who will expect him to pay off her debt. He also won't buy or share a house with a woman so heavily indebted. He actually *owns* his house. I'm turning 37 soon and a lovely young lady who is 17 turning 18 has said she wants to marry me. I dated a girl who left her broke ex for me, we were both independent people. She often talked about how men like her ex were intimidated by successful women. The funny thing is, as time wore on the more successful she became- the more in love I became. But the more successful I became the more fearful she became. In the end it wasn’t success that was causing that fear, it was being expendable. Her ways became very controlling. So I would say he’s right in a way. But it’s deeper than that.

It was the fact that I was independent and I took care of myself. I wasn’t impulsive, lazy, and refusing to do work, and she was independent and he began to leech off of her. She really tried with him, even bought the engagement ring so he could propose. But when she meets a man who is ambitious, independent, it’s scary on the heart bc he is of high value. His dating options expand, and if she feels she does wrong he may leave and unlike her broke and dependent ex, he won’t come back. That’s the fear. The truth is, no one likes to feel they are expendable when in love. Whether you have money or don’t know how to behave as they need you to be. I understand the modesty with money thing. Actually she is partially true. In a relationship when the woman as successful as the man or more, it does intimidate men. Because men have this primal need to be the protector and provider. So when the woman is successful the man is insecure because there is a lack of sense of purpose for the man in the relationship. The man feels less needed. And generally, most men want status, that also includes having a woman the needs him and also supports him in achieving higher status.

To the women in these comments, don’t let a man treat you like this. If they can’t handle the fact that you’re successful why would they respect anything else? You don’t offend anyone worth it just because you’re successful. Men with healthy egos won’t assume that makes you masculine or that you have bad habits. That doesn’t even make sense for a successful woman to have bad habits. How would she be successful then? Also truly masculine men make you feel safe and are not threatened by your success because like any person a TRULY confident person doesn’t feel threatened by someone else’s achievements. They usually have their own they are proud of and don’t need to speak negatively on anyone. That’s not what truly happy people do

I saw a video where successful woman has no problem finding a date, the only problem she had is having a hard time looking for someone who is smarter than her, I think she needs someone who is Smarter than her, especially with financial intelligence.

Actually she is partially true. In a relationship when the woman as successful as the man or more, it does intimidate men. Because men have this primal need to be the protector and provider. So when the woman is successful the man is insecure because there is a lack of sense of purpose for the man in the relationship. The man feels less needed. And generally, most men want status, that also includes having a woman the needs him and also supports him in achieving higher status.

I think there’s a giant misconception that having lots of money equals value or status. That’s very superficial and anyone who only looks for that doesn’t find love. Good men date a woman who would be with them whether it’s taking a bus stop or owning a billion dollar company.
@Geoff Klein in an ideal world yes. Good men date and marry good women. But reality is not the case. People tend to date and marry others of the same status, background. The US National Surrey on Family and Household stated that women earning higher increased the chance of divorce by 50%.
