Solution to the question 60 is being divided into 3 contributing 20 each When the seller gives 10 INR discount this 10 is also divided among all 3 10/3 = 3.3333.... which is subtracted from 20 results in 16.6666.... But we can either give 16 or 17 when 17 is given to each it cost 17*3 =51 which is > total cost 50 So 16 is given to each frnd which results 16*3=48 So the lost 2 INR is in this distribution

Solution to the question
60 is being divided into 3 contributing 20 each
When the seller gives 10 INR discount this 10 is also divided among all 3
10/3 = 3.3333.... which is subtracted from 20 results in 16.6666....
But we can either give 16 or 17 when 17 is given to each it cost 17*3 =51 which is > total cost 50
So 16 is given to each frnd which results 16*3=48
So the lost 2 INR is in this distribution
