I looked far and wide for information on this sort of thing for ages before finding these videos! I had noticed in ableton when doing quick 16th note automation using 3rd party plugins, the bounced audio was a MESS compared to the shapes i had drawn, and it would change depending on my buffer. Good to know though since there are some workaround, like automating 3rd party plugins on/off is pretty close to sample accurate i believe! Its just the ableton "configure" that is sketchy.

Some times I feel that the less I know the better. I'm very OCD about workflow inconsistencies and obvious negligence... I was to start looking 'under the hood' I would probably have a heart attack. Great video!

Would love to see a series of videos where you compare the results when comparing basic use of Pro Tools Import Session Data and Reaper’s import from track templates functions to their attempted equivalents in Studio One and Cubase 10.5. In my experience, Cubase fairs pretty well, save for a couple minor initial bugs and the omission of rack instruments. Studio One is, um, how to put this politely? An interesting case study.
In particular, I would test how accurately each daw imports a multi output vsti that has it’s discrete outputs routed to any destination other than the main outputs from another session into a new session. Is all the routing retained as it should be when all tracks/ins/outs are present and accounted for in the source and destination sessions? The answer may shock you! (Unless, of course, you’ve used Studio One, I’m which case, you won’t be surprised).
Also interesting to test or compare: whether you are able to import a folder with only some of it’s content and, in general, if/how routing is maintained accurately if one attempts to import only some contents of a folder and the folder itself.
A spoiler: Pro Tools and Reaper flawlessly perform as expected and intended.
Cubase performs admirably for a newly added feature set.
Studio One? Well, my secret hope is that you will test/compare this feature among the above DAWs, share the results on your channel and that doing so might spur some fixes or at least attempted fixes from Presonus the way these videos seemingly have in regards to automation flaws. Thanks for what you are doing here!

Hmm. Interesting idea. That might be something for another series. It would be difficult as well, since a variety of people will expect different things to 'work'. I think a particularly big consideration would be transporting tracks between DAWs, as that's something certain DAW users may expect more than others.
Another issue for me is that when I do content like this, it can be instantly made incorrect or outdated with a small update. That lessens the likelihood that I'll want to spend the 20-60 hours testing it :(

I can hear "it's easy to test.., do it yourself, it's easy.. it's easy " plenty of times in the video.
Then I read "20-60 hours" .. Easy isn't supposed to be done quick? It's EASY! or not ;)

@@carlosp.1846 It doesn't take that long to test, it takes that long to make the videos :) It's a lot of work to write and create videos.

I appreciate your enthusiasm for Reason, but I won't be adding it in any of these videos.
