Its amazing how many cool strats are in this game that I could have never imagined as a kid playing this when it came out in 07. Love watching these vids keep up the great work Drongo u da man.
If you are going to commit to halbs, better send the military reforms card. That 20% speed increase is extremely important to go and catch the skirms, stop them from free kiting.
lets also consider the fact, this agra dealt so much damage in this game because of the barracs placement, this could work much better if it was placed on the right or left side of the map, not center exactly
@@diptube6563 They can still kite with them so even if you can catch them you might have taken too much damage by then, especially if they have large numbers. Even Musketeers can do that job though they have only 75% of their range. They both have the same base speed of 4, but can get a card that gives you +0.8 speed and advanced Arsenal makes an upgrade that gives you another +0.4. The problem is that either of those 2 cards are better spend on other shipments that help you set up your eco or get to Age III, so you shouldn't go for them. In Age III you're best off with Ruyters anyway. Besides, you have Skirmishers which not only have 25% more range than Crossbowmen but can also beat them in a fight if they get in range. So in conclusion, no.
I think getting 10 to 15 sepoy at the start is important. It's a mith that you can't rush against the rush civ. Ex India it's impossible i guess. If you know enemy is having forward barracks against India try to create a mass of 12 sepoys and seige. Send eco cards for India. To be honest though Indian units are strong as a Dutch just make a square and try to nullify early rush then age up and attack India's eco will be weak if he rushes. And will not have much resources to produce units. If Dutch had won i would be surprised. What is it Dutch or Netherlands.
He didn´t have to. Some players like to not play every game the same as robot but to try some other strategy. This is not tourney for big money and even then, this is their playstile and why its fun to watch them
@@NotFlappy12 yeah not true at all these are top tier players, so yes skill matters but when a civ has a huge advantage over another a good player can beat a great player.
@@michalpecz9433 clearly, i love seeing new strategies even if they fail. If this was a tournament setting then don arty should have played the longer eco game. It’s not being a robot when the civ was designed to play a certain way. Blame the developers for making certain civs one dimensional.
i think this comment is missing the whole point. he went halbs cuz he was trying to destroy the fort asap and catch hatch off guard. Its very unusual to go logi and make halbs age 2, but it can work as the halbs have a high siege and bonus against skirm aswell.
@@caswesstein Halbs dont have any bonus against skirms, but Halbs definitely have their own perks indeed. afaik Halbs have a bonus against Cav and Shock Infantry (which used to be called "Light Infantry", not to be confused with Skirmisher-type units. And yeah, like Julian said, you cant get Ruyters in age 2

Well, there was no logistician back then

I love this game
I'm so happy that people stopped sleeping on the logistician.
What bonus does the logistician give? im sorry I dont know the DE bonuses
Halberdiers are too expensive to be wasting that early
I'd say that Halberdiers are too expensive to be used against a civ with Age II Skirmishers, like India
@@josephhansen7797 thankyou for repeating my comment sir
@@bigpanda307 No problem. I myself have found Halberdiers in Age II are useful in certain matchups but not all of them
Against civs who only have crossbowmen, would you consider it an option?

Where dou you get all those games records?
Give me age up politicians as avatars or give me death. I miss my old one from RE.
Dutch is soooo much stronger in this matchup, don arty only had to play exactly how the Dutch should play, just turtle and boom and it’s easy win.

Why waste on the halberdiers while you could hit and run with ruyter?
The only real strat with this is halbediers and then mass falc. But you’re right it’s much weaker than ruts

the indian train settlers faster than the dutch? or was a miss micro there?
They get free vills off shipments
The free settler from every shipment as well as the 4 (I think) villagers from the ottoman consulate
Dutch seems to idle his villager production aswell to try and get the advantage in mil units
Amazing game from Haitch once again
