I bought a Feb 2024 assembled Kona yesterday. I definitely think it is worth it, especially with the present discounts. First Full Day with my new Kona: Today’s verdict. Dad, my wife and me. Approx 200 kms driven. Kona is Very comfortable. Highway speeds were handled with easy stress-free aplomb. Stereo system is very good. OEM Nexen Tyres more than adequate and not noisy. Front seat comfort superb. Under thigh support, lumbar support etc. Selectable Regen is a very good thing. With a Kona especially on the main highways in South India one does not need to have range anxiety. Wife sat in all three seats at the rear on rotational basis and pronounced them all comfortable. Dad being a six footer sat in the back for a short distance and pronounced it fine. The suspension is excellent. Soaks up all the bumps and rumble strips and all. One has to be a bit watchful pn those super high speed breakers but all normal speed breakers taken at proper speeds there is no issue. Low speed comfort is actually excellent. Im running 36psi as recommended all round. The car accelerates very well indeed. I came first in many ‘Traffic Light Grand Prixes’ yesterday and today. The Kona fit and finish is European. Quality is tops. When compared to Nexon and XUV400 this car is a very good buy I think. It reminds all of us very powerfully of my Yeti (2011-2019)… Ref Economy; Approx 200 kms run today. Charging in the evening on DC Fast cost about 350/- plus on slow 2.7KW 50/- . 400 Rs. So approx 2/- per km. Petrol Car - average 10kmpl. 2200/- Per km 11/- So straightaway ~Rs 9 per km savings. Interesting situation I am in ref EV’s. It is just a journey of new discovery for me.
@@ramdyvlogs today we tested Bangalore-Mysore-Bangalore. Same three persons in the car. 320kms covered up and down. Downhill gradient onward to Mysore. Started with 85% in the morning. Reached with 36%. Charged back to 81% and later in the day came back to Bangalore. Mysore to Bangalore is an upward gradient. Anyway we reached with 30% left. I note that as one drives at 90 kmph on highways with cruise control on and enjoying some great music and ac, the regen is lowered. In fact when cruise is on, regen hardly shows up except on a down slope more than 10 degrees. However, if one drives actively with regen on level 2, and doesnt use cruise control, then a good amount of regen really kicks in. 540kms driven for testing and familiarisation in 2 days of ownership. Kona is basically a very comfortable, alternate fuelled tool for transportation. The sound system is of very high quality. Aircon cools well. Ride quality is very comfy. This is a very sensible and capable crossover vehicle to buy at the present prices. Very good value for money I would say.
