    I love how every time I get home from practice I see a video that literally talks about what I did wrong

    "Although physical errors happen, mental errors should never happen." Thats exactly what my coach says.

    Thanks Coach, I’m a shortstop and I’ve had a few errors in the past couple games. After seeing this I learned that I kept putting my arms and hands straight down instead of out in front to where I can still see the ball and make a clean play.

    I’m digging the wording with the hop counts! I’m stealing that😁

    Justin great video as always, this is alittle irrelevant to the fielding aspect of the game but i had a hitting-question. In one of your videos regarding the 7 absolutes of hitting you preach getting hitters into a good launch position to unload and hit gappers and homeruns. I’ve been doing alot of tee work and have noticed that when i get into a launch position my front shoulder when ready to attack the ball is tilted down. For me i feel like it allows my back hip and weight on the backside to explode and transfer more fluently as opposed to my front shoulder being just square to the pitcher. I’ve been watching hitters like altuve (my favorite player and guy who I emulate my game after only I’m an outfielder 😄) harper, correa, stanton, donaldson, lindor and so on and so forth and when i watch their swing in slow motion once they get their foot down their shoulders are all tilted down and they launch shots and even when they arent hrs they hit the gaps hard. Should i emphasize shoulder down when I’m in the launch position or should I tweak that and do something else?

    How can you tell when to dive or just try to field it on the run?

    Love your videos.. I have trained many different levels of baseball but I am stumped at getting the 7 to 10yo kids into fielding mechanics. The 11yo and above are easier as they listen .
    I have tried numerous games to get having fun but .so far it's not working.. I have had a search of your videos and I can seem to see anything to get the kids to get into the fielding basic positions to stop a ball and then throw while they are having a game.. trying to get a 7 to 10 yo team having fun and not becoming bored is not an easy task

    Hey coach Justin.... I have a left hander on my team this spring and I'm wondering what should be his foot work for Fielding a ground ball. Since a right hander is right / left...right / left throw...should he be left/right? Assuming he is at SS...how does he properly "get around" the ball keeping momentum towards first using left / right foot work? Thanks in advance for your help!

      Leftys shouldnt play infield because it takes longer to make the throw to first

    • @ChristoherWGray
      @ChristoherWGray 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Lefties should be groomed to pitch first and foremost.
      Then hitting well will keep a lefty in the lineup
      So it's hitting really well and playing first
      Or
      Hitting decently and playing outfield corners
      But pitching first and foremost
      If you are a coach and have to ask this question you need to reevaluate your baseball coaching expertise

    I have a question. Why do you do more videos about infielding than outfielding? It may just be me but I feel like you do more vids about infielding than outfielding and I'm wondering why.

      It's pretty easy to track a fly ball, get under it, set your feet and throw it to your cut off man. He's done videos focusing on OF drills

      Many of the skills in the infield translate naturally to the outfield. If you can read a hop, get into proper fielding positions, and learn to throw in the infield it will be easier in the outfield.

    i’ve never played baseball but i’m goin to tryout for the team this year. i’m very strong and athletic but i don’t know what i should be working on to be able to keep up with the guys who have been playing for years. any advice?

    • @joeshanahan3617
      @joeshanahan3617 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Connor Marquis just learn how to hit a baseball well, go to the batting cages, have someone throw you some pitches. Also I would recommend becoming an outfielder as that’s probably the easiest position to learn because speed is a huge part of it. Have someone hit you some pop flies. Also work with someone that knows how to play baseball well so you know you’re doing everything correctly.
