"Chama, jagi ja mathu mathu Joulu kila ja chi cham" Chama is agin sound Expression just to support the sentence, Jagi ja means stop, mathu mathu means slowly- slowly, joulu means will go, kila means why, ja chi means going ( for female) cham again is peyal sound referring girl is walking really fast that it's making her peyal sound cham cham. In total 'Oh! Stop for me, we both will go together slowly-slowly why are you going too fast, making your peyal make sound cham'. "Aha, rupsa ramoti ghungr na Baja cham" means rupsa dont play your ghungr(ghungru/payal) cham, cham is referring to the sound peyal or ghungro make.
"Chama, jagi ja mathu mathu Joulu kila ja chi cham"
Chama is agin sound Expression just to support the sentence,
Jagi ja means stop, mathu mathu means slowly- slowly, joulu means will go, kila means why, ja chi means going ( for female) cham again is peyal sound referring girl is walking really fast that it's making her peyal sound cham cham.
In total
'Oh! Stop for me, we both will go together slowly-slowly why are you going too fast, making your peyal make sound cham'.
This is an old kumaoni song and our songs really emphase on little small details like sounds. I know the meaning of whole song but the later lyrics are in little reference to village life in mountains and kumaoni khawats, texts which will be little difficult to understand if you are not familiar with culture, people and place 😅 and explaining them too would be so I just wrote the part you will understand easily. Without any specific reference to pahadis villages and lifestyle
