Was the footage in slow motion?

Legend has it that Christine Truman was severely hampered after hurting her leg in the second set but judging by this footage she seems to be moving quite freely.

Was witness to the great match between Ramanathan Krishnan and Thomas Koch of Brazil at the South Club,Calcutta in 1966.

They would not win a point in today’s game.

I wonder if it's "old style" because they are (relatively) unfit and only moderately athletic white women, or is what we're seeing largely a function of equipment? These are wooden rackets with (no doubt) cat gut strings. You could produce only so much power with them. You'll note that the matches between a young Billy Jean and Maggie Court are not much different. Nylon strings and composite fiber rackets had much more to do with changing the game than the athletes themselves. Sure, Monica had powerful groundstrokes, but credit the equipment for much of that "evolution in style".

Remember that the rackets were wooden and much heavier. You really had to plan ahead and backswing.
