Patio house in Monticelli Terme (PR) - continiarchitettura
Patio house, designed by the architect Marco Contini, pays particular attention to the connection with the surrounding environment, embracing the large presence of greenery. The house is spread over an area of 690 m². The conception of this residential building stands out for the presence of three patios of various sizes and uses. The first external patio has the function of dividing the residential area from the service area; inside, however, the rooms of the house are arranged around a courtyard covered by a large skylight, which contributes to internal climate comfort. A third courtyard is reserved exclusively for the bathroom area. The guiding principle of the distribution of spaces is to gradually reveal the internal environments, rotating around the central courtyard, clearly recalling the architectural scheme of the Roman domus.
The finishing materials are, for the internal and external walls, washed plaster and stone which guarantee a harmonious fusion between contemporary design and tradition, cement for the floors while the internal false ceilings are in larch wood.
The organization of the spaces may seem simple at first glance, but thanks to the research conducted on the arrangement of the openings, it was possible to identify a variety of visual perspectives that extend from each room of the house towards the vast garden.
In the sleeping area, the architect conceived an enveloping and refined environment: the two spacious bedrooms are designed with great attention to detail, offering a refuge of elegance and comfort. Each room is equipped with private bathrooms, finely furnished, conveying a relaxing atmosphere. The master bedroom blends beautifully with the external context thanks to the large corner window, thus guaranteeing an unparalleled residence experience.
Casa a Patio is a complete experience, combining comfort, aesthetics and respect for the surrounding environment.

Preferisco di gran lunga questo edificio, ad unico piano e dalle linee e volumi quasi elementari, che non le solite ville a un piano e mezzo o a due piani fatte a "cubi incastrati" , oppure a "parallelepipedi ruotati" , con cannocchiali vari, balconi con balaustre trasparenti e l'immancabile parete a colore in contrasto, tutte drammaticamente e sconsolatamente uguali le une alle altre. Quelle che molti committenti senza gusto nè stile amano farsi costruire, ritenendole "rappresentative" di qualcosa, forse di potere o di ricchezza.
So che ai progettisti quanto ho scritto potrebbe non sembrare quel gran complimento, trovare bello ciò che è "il meno peggio", ma non fraintendetemi. Il mio è veramente un complimento, ammesso e non concesso che gli architetti abbiano bisogno della mia approvazione.
E anche io adoro Frank Lloyd Wright, limitatamente però all'architettura per il privato……,conosco invece quasi per nulla Neutra e Mies Van Der Rohe
