I think the criteria was actually a bit higher. She wanted instant boyfriend. Her ideal guy had to instantly know everything she liked, and there was no getting to know each other with the guy making mistakes while trying to figure her likes and dislikes out. Clay was perfect but one dimensional. She didn’t even imagine him with hobbies or desires. His sole purpose in the beginning was to be hot, and know everything about her. There is no guy that . . . Boring. And in real life his obsession with her would have been extremely creepy

In the original the creator gets to keep his creation while in My Fair Lady (The original screenplay as written by its writer, not the adaptation), the gentleman has to let go of Dolittle and is left with the bitter phyrric victory that he managed to create a Galatea at the expense of his heart. Here the creation still did not end up with his creator but at least grew beyond her like Doolittle did...

You can probably see why there's not talk on this from authorities or hospitals when babies are born. From the moment we're 18, sometimes younger, we're all encouraged to get credit cards and keep our credit up (but we have to constantly use our SS# each time we use our credit cards). But all they do with our SS# is chain our legs and tell us it's a "freedom." Very sad indeed. I hope you're able to go a little off grid in the future for your own personal freedom.

Glad Clay got to stay alive. Also interesting is that "Rachel" is a Jewish woman in the Bible who actually struggled with her older sister (Leah) for the love of their common husband, who did not love Leah, but loved Rachel, and ended up doing 14 years of labor to marry her (after he was tricked into marrying her older sister). However Rachel was not able to have children, which made her grievous sad and jealous of Leah. This is actually still an active custom in many European and even extremely wealthy US families. In the Middle East, marriages are still arranged and many times the couple doesn't know each other before the week of the wedding preparations. I believe this is still an active custom in places like China as well.

@@pearl1050 They really do. Some often end up falling in love, but those those don't are pressured to find ways to work together as if marriage is a business partnership. As strange as it sounds to compare the two, if you can keep a business running smoothly with someone you aren't particularly fond of, then you can certainly keep a marriage together and create a good environment to bring children up in. Sex is still more commonly seen as sacred or a marriage act over there, than it is the US, so that helps as well. I'm not saying there aren't, like, brothels or escorts, but it's not as freely given there as it is here in the US. As long as sex holds some form of sacredness, marriages tend to last longer.
