Queen Victoria was another skilled equestrian monarch. In addition to the hunts, there's a painting of her and Prince Albert in the early 1850s riding out to personally oversee the British Army's training exercises.

That's big of him, she's a much better rider than he is! He's constantly nagging at the poor horse with his legs (while wearing spurs too) which is a pet hate of mine.

Its still surreal knowing her majesty has passed . She was a constant in an often tumultuous and changing world. How many Presidents , dignitaries and celebrities has she greeted? How many times have we changed jobs, lost our jobs , divorced and moved homes? and yet she was there all along reigning over us. I think i'm going to cry.

My great uncles Reddy and Graham Parsonage bred both horses ridden by the Queen and President Reagan. The Queen rode Burmese and the President rode Centenial, both bred for the RCMP Musical Ride at Fort Walsh in southwestern Saskatchewan and given by them to the Queen. Burmese was the Queen's favourite horse and when she died in 1991 at the age of 29 she was buried at Windsor Castle, a rare honour. The Queen gave Centennial to Prince Charles and changed his name to Centenial with only one n. No one seems to know why. 🍁

They continue on towards Buckingham Palace waving to the thousands of cheering Britons; all is going well.
Suddenly the right rear horse lets fly with the most horrendous earth-shattering fart ever heard in the British Empire. The smell is atrocious! Both passengers in the carriage must use
handkerchiefs over their noses. The fart shakes the coach but the two heads of state do their best to ignore the incident.
The Queen turns to President Reagan : “Mr. President, please accept my regrets. I am sure you understand there are some things which even a queen cannot control.”
Reagan, always trying to be presidential,
replied : “Your Majesty, do not give the matter another thought. Until you mentioned it, I thought it was one of the horses.”

I’m British, and I’m going to walk out my house, through my GARDEN, out of my gate, onto the PAVEMENT, get into my ESTATE CAR, then drive (on the left which is the correct side) down to the nearest ROUNDABOUT, cross the LEVEL CROSSING, go to TESCO’s, then get a shopping TROLLEY, and maybe pick up some bags of CRISPS and some fish and CHIPS 🍟 and a pair of TROUSERS, and maybe some PANTS 🩲 or JUMPERS, then head to the CHECKOUT, and load all the shopping into the BOOT of my car, then lift the BONNET to add SCREENWASH to clean the WINDSCREEN, and then drive off in my manual car to go and get some PETROL from a PETROL station, then drive home. I think I’ll spend the night on the GROUND floor, you know the first one you get to! May have a ROLL or some PRAWNS 🦐 for dinner, then maybe some JELLY or CANDY FLOSS. I really like the SWEETS 🍬 we have in the UK 🇬🇧.

There’s probably one planned for tomorrow anyway and you don’t want to spoil it early.
