Enh, I think you're overthinking this a bit. Just a plain radial texture. It's been around for a while now and you're the only one I've heard speak about it this way.
You're way off base here. This is a beautiful watch.
With a sandwich dial and white markers I think the date at 6 should NOT be color-matched. It replaces the 6 o'clock marker, so it should be white like all the other hour markers.
Soooo agree! So many times the date takes the place of the index. In these cases it should match those, NOT the dial. Funny there are plenty of cases where the date wheel should be color matched, but the company chooses to be cheap. Swiss brands are the worst at this.

I believe Grand Seiko has a model where the dial is inspired by autumn when the first leaves begin falling near a mountain range in Japan landing on a butthole.

I would love to see a Raymond Weil review. Until last month, when I sold it and got an Omega Speedmaster Racing, I had a Raymond Weil Freelancer chronograph. They are one of the few remaining independent Swiss watchmakers. I actually emailed them for the proper pronunciation. They said it was pronounced “While” in the US and “Vay” in Switzerland. Weird way to pronounce “Raymond”, I thought.

Hey Jorey. I usually agree with your observations and comments. But this time I respectfully disagree. I didn't get the 'butt hole' vibe you (and apparently others) get from the Nodus Unity. I like the look, at least in the photos. I do see your points but, again, respectfully disagree. To each their own.

Raymond Weil, newish brand, the newish lim ed Geneva, is it, diver is quite ok, apart from a wilfully ugly date window as is some models in theier Freelancer range, They also do alot of over fussy constellation like dress stuff thats very dated.

It's a rorschach dial...and we now know where your mind goes. I didn't see the butthole until you mentioned it, now kinda cant unsee it.
I'm a big fan of Nodus. Most of what they put out is great and they do seem to care about details. Sometimes it feels a little personal, like they are out to take my money. But this watch has me less excited than their other releases these past few years. I actually do like this watch conceptually. But for whatever reason the colors themselves really don't do it for me. I really like the idea of the ceramic bezel for a sports watch. Good concept hopefully they come out with other colorways. Maybe a contrasting color ceramic would look great too. But Im ok with that dial design, initially I thought eye iris to be honest but now I totally see the butthole as well. But I like big butts and I cannot lie.

Give me a break!!! Seiko charges over $1000 for a steel bezel and misaligned chapter ring. These watches pinch way above their price point - I have one and may by another model soon.

Met the watchmakers at the Windup in San Francisco Fair, solid guys. They explained Nodus means “intersection” in Latin - "it represents what we stand for as people and as a brand. "

Why do watches go through so many phases so often where every manufacturer picks up on a flash-in-the-pan gimmick and runs it into the ground?
This kind of coarse, irregular sunbursty pattern can work if done properly. Grand Seiko does it with Mount Iwate dials, Glasshutte Original 60s as well.

GS SBGK005 has a similar texture. I’ve never seen it in person but like it more than the ones that look like glittery sand paper.

True, when I first saw them the bezel really bothered me. A normal steel bezel would make it so much better
I think that in gray it is fine but when you have pink or blue, it is a bit too organic like in my taste. I think thy could go more organic like if they would go with green for me cause it would make me think of leaves and plants. Personally right now I am really into waffle texture. I don't know why but this is the texture that sells me at the moment.

I've never been a fan of the Genta designs. IMO, these watch brands are trying to catch up with Grand Seiko. GS has been kicking ass on their dial designs.
