    I cannot thank you more, for the words that wave number and difference in path lengths form a Fourier pair !. However some books mention as 2pi/lambda as wave number, in that case lambda/2pi and x forms the pair. Does it make any difference in interpretation of result?

    Well done, it now is obvious why the "C" means Coherence rather than Computed. The remaining part: How is the image location determined? Perhaps it's the 2D image on the detector wherein each pixel represents an X,Y location on the retina. YES/NO?
