This actually makes a lot of sense. It's sad just how accurate this is. Poor 2D. Despite how good of an album Plastic Beach was, it was probably the lowest point in the band's career. 2D being held against his will and regularly abused and forced to sing, Murdoc conducting all of this misery and abuse, Noodle either in hiding or attempting to reunite with the band, and Russell (who tried to off himself by throwing himself into the sea) being mutated by radiation thus becoming a giant in the sea.
Did.. I hear lore? Murdoc wanted to make a band- so he did the best thing ta do and drive into an instrument shop and steal all the instruments. In doing so, he hit stuart pot (stupot, 2D) in the eye, giving him an 8-Ball frature in his left eye. Murdoc was arrested and his community service was to take care of Stuart Pot until he woke from his catatonic state. But, he bullied him instead, to an extent, eventually 2D went through the car windscreen and gave his OTHER EYE an 8-Ball fracture, aswell waking him up from his catatonic state. They were a great Duo, but they needed a drummer. So they went to new York and kidnapped russel, it's said he knows every beat in the universe. He was mad about being kidnapped at first and wanted to leave, but after hearing some singles he wanted to stay. Then, they put ads on the local newspaper (Kong studios, needed guitarist!) And the ad somehow traveled to Japan and here noodle comes through a fed-Ex box ALL THE WAY FROM JAPAN, the way she got her name was odd. The only English word she knew was 'noodle', no given other name, so that's what the band called her for the rest of her career.After that they release their first single, "ghost train" (which I honestly find a fliping bop) it went viral, and more and more songs were produced, until murdoc went to jail in mexico after buying drugs with expired checks. So they picked a new, bassist, a new *leader*, Ace. and after murdoc got out of jail and went back to England, and Ace was kicked out of the band, murdoc felt as if the band didn't need him anymore. Ad. If they were *distant, and disappointed* in murdoc. They went on and abandoned him for maybe 2 weeks. He became a sad, sad boy. So when the band came back, murdoc was so glad, yet like a ghost to them. (Ghost train reference?!) And they made a song where after a while you see murdoc nearly stab Stu with a syringe full of 'truth syrum' because murdoc felt as if he was keeping secrets about the band,Yet murdoc missed, causing Stu to crash the motorbike. Russel didn't like this and noodle either. Russel beat murdoc up. 🥲 after that the band broke up again. Murdoc blew up (or set on fire) Kong studios and used the insurance money to paint and construct a big hunk of rotting trash in the ocean pink, therefore creating plastic beach. Murdoc wanted to make and album but couldn't without Atleast 2D, so he hired the "boogeyman" to kidnap and deliver 2D to plastic Beach (IN A SUITCASE.) Russel didn't like this one bit so he swam across the ocean, trying to get to murdoc and 2D, becoming a gentle giant from all of the chemicals, surviving off of whales as a source of food. Noodle was presumably dead, but we see later on she actually became a bad bitch, shooting at attack planes trying to take her MASSIVE ship down. Russel saves her after her boat sinks and she's on a raft. They finally get close to plastic beach, before russel got kidnapped by Chinese (or Japanese/Korean) people and was used as a physical metaphor. He was heavily under fed. Shrinking him back down to size after a while. He finally escape and swim to plastic beach just a little smaller than before. Murdoc, 2D, and noodle were all waiting.they finally got back together and made their playlist, and singles. Now the boogeyman wants murdocs soul, as a payment. Thus creating ANOTHER new album, "rhinestone eyes" thus releasing ANOTHER FUCKING ALBUM, "the lost chord" WHERE PLASTIC BEACH GOT DESTROYED. they went on tour to America, and that's when 2D started making the stuart potcast. That's also when the "Do ya thing" single came out. (This is all I know for now, I need to catch up.)
I know im 4 or so months late but i just love the contrast of the final shot. How in the actual 'lost chord' video 2D comes back for Murdoc and saves him. Whereas in this video. Murdoc does nothing to free 2D and keeps him from leaving. I love it so much. Fantastic work to everyone who made this! 😁
Oh, wow This made me cry. A lot. This needs to get more attention certainly. I thought about 2D's traumas a lot, and when he came back for Murdoc, after all he's done, hits me right in the heart. The poor guy has Stockholm Syndrom and some kind of dementia. He probably idealizes Murdoc. God he is an animated character-that's all he is. But I really want to grab this guy through my screen and hug-hug-hug him with all my love. Endlessly hugging and telling him it'll be alright. I am myself suffering from abuse. I understand him. I remember what Stuart said in one interview: "It'll be alright in the end, and if it's not alright-it's not the end"
Hello, there! Yes, I've heard 2D is a character that has Stockholm Syndrome, thus he can't easily leave Murdoc behind; and obviously, the bizarre accidents he went through, all because of Murdoc, wouldn't do good to him in the head. :/ It certainly is a very interesting story the Gorillaz have, some parts crazier than others, but we can find some resemblance to real events and human suffering some people could go through. I'm glad this video could help you in a way, and I sure hope you can find your way out of your situation of abuse. :( It would be great to hear an update about it. Murdoc and 2-d where drew AMAZING and the part where they where singing “I wanna be free” matched SO well and this whole thing is a MASTERPIECE, and when 2-d was tied up on the bed and Murdoc looked through the door looked like he felt bad and it just was so good and cyborg noodle AMAZING I love this and when 2-d woke up on the bed and the orange colors was sooo cool looking!! keep up the good work love this! ✨❤

The fact that 2D went through all of this breaks my heart. Seeing him sad makes me sad and Murdoc obviously couldn’t respect that 2D wanted nothing to do with any of this and he just hurt 2D which isn’t fair to him. He never deserved any of this 😢

Hi! Tysm! Also, as far as I know, 2D was 33 while on Plastic Beach whereas Murdoc was 45. I don't really remember where I read that but I'm pretty sure those were their ages at that time. So, yes. 2D is quite young in contrast to Murdoc, they are like 12 years apart. 😂
2D hiding under the bed made me so sad poor thing was held on plastic beach against his will without having a choice but to sing,re watching the lost chord made me think that 2D forgave Murdoc once he saved him.

Thank you so much! 2D wasn't dreaming any parts, sadly. He woke up all handcuffed after Murdoc knocked him out using a cloth soaked in chloroform while fighting. Murdoc thought handcuffing him for days would teach him a lesson, though he would feel sorry for the boy at some point. Btw, hello to you too! Glad you enjoyed the vid. ;)

On the one hand, part of him really does hate 2-D because he needs him, because he can't do it on his own, he could replace Russel and Noodle and did, but he couldn't replace 2-d. On the other hand he may feel bad for him because he himself knows what that's like having suffered it from his father, and maybe part of him hates himself for that because he's doing to 2-d what his dad did to him when he was a child basically.

Hi! Tysm! Also, as far as I know, 2D was 33 while on Plastic Beach whereas Murdoc was 45. I don't really remember where I read that but I'm pretty sure those were their ages at that time. So, yes. 2D is quite young in contrast to Murdoc, they are like 12 years apart. 😂

Thank you so much! 2D wasn't dreaming any parts, sadly. He woke up all handcuffed after Murdoc knocked him out using a cloth soaked in chloroform while fighting. Murdoc thought handcuffing him for days would teach him a lesson, though he would feel sorry for the boy at some point. Btw, hello to you too! Glad you enjoyed the vid. ;)

@@sanguchito5170 Glad you captured that duality of his nature towards 2-D. On the one hand, part of him really does hate 2-D because he needs him, because he can't do it on his own, he could replace Russel and Noodle and did, but he couldn't replace 2-d. On the other hand he may feel bad for him because he himself knows what that's like having suffered it from his father, and maybe part of him hates himself for that because he's doing to 2-d what his dad did to him when he was a child basically.
