Not just land scapers but construction workers also so where I am at in Michigan I grab a stack of business cards and go to the lawn dudes the landscapers and contractors even a lot of the local businesses I had them a stack and every job they get me I throw them 100$ or 50$ whatever a little incentive. Don’t dress like a bum either,34.99$ on amazing button down short sleeve shirts with custom stitching their cheap and look great and they breathe well when your climbing, we get comments all the time about how good we look 😉I promise that it does make a difference.

Great share, and yes the more folks you speak with and leave business cards with, the better the referrals will get and more consistent! Dressing more professional is HUGE as well, potential customers and referral partners want to know that who they hire or refer, are clean looking and professional. This is also a form of marketing, just wearing company shirts and polos to look consistent, great for branding!

Hey! Loving your content, It has been a huge help. Just curious how you go about prioritizing which marketing method to use first. If we have a limited budget and no real data on what works and what doesn't. Where do you start? Just throw a dart and send it to see what works in our area for our business? Any input on this would be appreciated. Thanks!

Hey Ian, it depends on where you are in your business. If just starting out, We recommend business cards, yard signs, fliers, and other low cost, high energy/activity marketing. Also, getting your google business profile verified on the maps is free, and a minimum viable website online to increase credibility. After you get some steady work, it is smart to invest in other online and offline marketing campaigns.

Do you ever do marketing to help find employees? That's a huge challenge that is nearly impossible.

a google campaign is expensive I wouldn't recommend that for small companies there's lot of people that click's just out of curiosity or even competitors and you will get charge and that's not good not even pay for call's because many people call just to offer stuff like health care and that kind of thing and guess what google don't give a shit they will charge you,
eddm might work depending of the postal office where you take them and depending of the driver who is going to deliver some times they don't deliver your stuff and they go straight to the garbage

That can happen with google ads campaigns for sure. Google calls biz owners to set up a "smart campaign" on google which are easy to setup, but aren't that smart, have limited targeting, and it runs wide open. The best platform is the regular google ads platform, where you can build out the campaigns a lot more detailed, dial in the targeting super focused, and eliminate wasteful spending. An experienced Digital Marketing team can help with this.
