He actually has a very nice smooth voice with excellent control. You have no idea how long it takes to develop technique like that to the point its habitual. Dustin Andras They wanted her to be selfish and determined to reach her goal in life to be a broadway actress... Most of the time that means win at all cost which we saw the first 3 seasons... She was intimidated by people who she thought were better than her which made her do mean things to get ahead(She sent Charice to a crack house and pissed me off the rest of the season). Also she was incredibly selfish with every friend or boyfriend she had... Finchel was 90% of Rachel talking 100mph about her damn future career. Then randomly she just turned into Lea Michelle in season 4 and it was all gone... The writers pulled off what they wanted her to be which was a love/hate feel but always adored on stage during competition or a solo....
The newbies on season 4 ain't got nothing on these incredible singers. 👈🏻 I wrote this comment at a time where I was not happy with the new cast and I felt the show was replacing the originals with duplicates of themselves buuuut after a lot of rewatching and finally getting the season 4 -6 songs on Apple Music, I have a bit of appreciation of the season 4 and 6 vocalists on the show.
Suzanne Smart Marley has Mercedes impressed and was keeping up with Rachel in their duet. Unique is basically the love child of Kurt and Mercedes. The others? Ion know.

Would the characters be ruined like season 4 (because let's face it the only interesting characters were unique and Marley, and even did the way there story was handled was bad, everyone else was interesting, but there story lines weren't really good). Glee's vocal powerhouse is these four voices. Sounds even better in acapella as their voices resinate and bring the song to life. Even with no melody their voices are still a vocal powerhouse and Glee's vocal powerhouse is Chris, Lea, Amber and Naya.

Not only is this the perfect and classiest way of saying goodbye to Whitney, but the arrangement is stellar and their voices meld together flawlessly. I wish they could do more things like this where they just let their voices shine and speak for themselves. Easily one of the greatest performances on the show.

Whoever thinks Kurt has no place here is either tone deaf or has no idea how music arrangement works. Kurt is doing sooo much work to give harmonical structure to the arrangements, his voice is one of the best technically and it takes tons of work to reach that level + counter tenor voices are very rare, he is absolutely one of the top 4 voices in glee along with the other 3 here. Ryan murphy nailed this cover and it's probably my favorite one from the whole show.
