Hell of a game by Maxwell. We need those bats to come alive though again. Credit UCLA making some extremely good defensive plays though that saved at least a few runs. I knew this was going to be a nail biter start to finish.
wow, what a game, kelly maxwell on fire, and pitching out of some jams too, big strike outs in key moments. and that catch by janelle meono saved 2 runs and kept it a nail biter. and of course, tiare, always coming up with the big one. i hope it's these two in the finals.
So all those very negative comments posted by people in the OU camp denigrating Kelly Maxwell's pitching over the season are now eating humble pie. Great game both teams. Very entertaining. Thanks Matt

Canady has struggled a little in the postseason but she's the national POY for a good reason. Without her, Stanford doesn't get past Regionals. Maxwell was awesome this time out but I give a rested Canady the nod.

They did. They had several players on base and couldn’t capitalize on it. And OU should have had more runs but shoutout to uclas defense.
Brady and palacios were shut down by Maxwell is why.

They need more discipline at the plate, they have demonstrated over the years they have no discipline. They need to hire a new hitting coach.

That playoff 'switch' must be flipped full on! Maxwell took the bus and drove it home all by herself! She surprised me with her overall control. 7 strikeouts on UCLA Brady AND Palacios - the best hitters on the team! UCLA P Terry was on - except for one shot by OU Jennings.
An OU 1-0 win; pitching and defense. Really good game.

Infield fly rule - This makes it so the batter is automatically out and the runners are not required to advance regardless if the ball is caught or not. The runners would have to hold up very close to their bases, so it prevents the infielder from being able to intentionally drop the ball and get the lead runner on a force, and probably a double play. The runners can advance at their own risk

Great work as usual, Matt. Took me a few weeks to find your new channel so I missed a lot this season but watched a lot of games in May, binged the Regionals a bit and didn't miss a game in Supers.
A question, though: I know your formula for softball/baseball and basketball (will really miss Bill Walton) but do you have a standard procedure for football? Closest I could come was every play resulting in a first down or score but don't think that's it. Anyway, thanks for doing these.👍

@@MattHighlightsNo.2 I've sometimes wondered if you had rights issues with any networks or conferences. Too bad FOX Sports keeps you from doing this (it WOULD promote their casts) but with so many streaming services getting into CFB now, that may open some doors for you.
BTW, thanks for doing Big Sky games. FCS schools and leagues don't get the credit they deserve for playing good, competitive football and (IMHO) the Big Sky is the best conference at that level.

Masterful pitching from Maxwell. I am not so sure about the Infield Fly Rule call? That rule is intended to prevent a fielder from deliberately letting the ball fall so as to set up a double play. That is not what happened. The UCLA player lost the ball in the sun and it hit her in the face. Dubious call I think.
At least Maxwell isn't a screaming meanie like the rest of those Okies
