- I recently saw this man's wife fall on the ground & she was pretty beat up from the fall. So I thought it was the perfect opportunity to help someone out and make a good video for you. We don't get much snow in my area so it was fun to make a snow video. I hope that you have a wonderful day. I really appreciate all of the support and look forward to putting out more videos soon.
To be very open and honest I have very little experience with snow and know that I am probably not using the best technique or equipment. I am not going to invest into any snow equipment because it will just sit around for years. most of the snow we get in this area will melt off by mid day or the next day at the latest. This was a uncommon snow storm where we actually got to enjoy the snow for a few days.
You hear people say all the time, “If you need anything just let me know.” But it’s different when someone knows you need something and does it without them asking. Kindness is gold. Thank you for recognizing their need and just do it.

That phrase to me, is a cop out. The person who says it usually does not mean it. I have heard it many times, but I don't ask for help from the person, I usually get disappointed. I have bad knees and got some help last year to get some trees down that were running along the fence line. Common sense says, not just take them down, but also get rid of them, which I asked for. They got them down, but the 20x10x10 foot pile still sits here a year later. I WONT ask again. I was left with a mess that I am trying to get cleaned up. No Cartilage in my knees hurts. I am also the kind of person who will see need and get it done.
I am a 73 years old and after watching your show, I started helping my neighbour with his yard. I feel really good about it and I bet you feel the same way after each job you do. Tks for being such a kind person.
My family started doing this for our elderly neighbor last winter. The wife fell twice, breaking a different wrist each time and the husband has bad knees. Their daughter is a single mom and was coming over to do it after she did her house.
Now it seems like it’s a competition to see which one of the neighbors will show up first lol. A lot of people forget that we’re all going to need this kind of help at some point.
As a Canadian, watching someone from so far south shoveling snow put a smile on my face. The fact that you helped a veteran at that? Kudos to you, good sir.
You not only wear your heart on your sleeve but it encompasses your entire body, thanks to your Parents for raising such a Bighearted young man.

That’s the thing - we all recognize kindness in others but don’t do the deeds ourselves for some reason. I sweep my neighbor’s sidewalk when I do mine, and my other half sprays their weeds when he does ours. It’s not much (we live in the desert) and we’re not sure they even know, but it makes our community look better and makes us feel better. For some reason we stop at their house. Don’t know why.
Thank you for taking the time to do this. It's one thing to pull in and drop a plow to clear the drive,,,,, it's another to grab a shovel and do it by hand. Your kindness is a great example for all of us.

I wish all your videos were on projects where you help people like this -- the elderly, disabled, or physically unable to maintain their own safe lawns, driveways, or homes. I like most of your videos, but helping a 92 year old man is genuinely heartwarming and moving. I would watch a thousand of them.

One of the biggest fears we older folks have is slipping and falling in the snow. A broken hip is not a good thing. You are a huge blessing to them ….. thank you for helping them. I know you don’t enjoy shoveling but I’m glad you helped out! I see cookies in your future. 😎

I can't believe your kindness is shoveling this driveway ... no snow blowing ... just you and a snow shovel. It's hard work, and that you are doing it for this couple who are older is such a blessing. As you age, it's hard to admit to the things you just can't do anymore. Then someone like you comes along and the job is done. and they have a safer way to get to their paper and mailbox. This is a huge blessing, I'm sure for this couple. Michiganian here. You did great; getting sun on the pavement as soon a possible is the way to go. However…take breaks. Hydrate. This is more of a workout than you realize!
Basically, as long as you don't pull something and shovel an unnecessary amount of times your technique is fine. 😂
@@ventilate4267 Actually people can have heart attacks from shoveling snow. It is more strenuous than you think. I live in part of NY that gets between 100-200" of ❄ per season. #lakeeffect #lakeontario. TUG HILL plateau.

A fall, a broken hip, a long convalescence in bed, a resulting pneumonia infection, death from the lung infection -- a very dangerous progression for the elderly. You may have just saved a life there, brother. Well done!

This reminds me of my neighbor. She's 94. She goes out to her shed on her walker & comes out with her riding snowblower (& it's changed over for mowing) . I took a double look. I watched till she was done. I went & told her if she needed help I can get her it. She shook her finger @ me & said "don't you dare". She does her yard herself all year round. I can't do much being on chemo every 4 weeks... But when I have a good day I'm on top of my yard. She does circles around her own kids. I imagine you wearing a vest over your coat that would say: "I'd rather be mowing!" No snow in mid-Florida where I now live and, to be honest, I don't miss the Michigan winters of snow and ice. I miss everything else though and I am not saying moving to Florida was without pros and cons. Just that at 73 I am not about to grab and shovel and join you, sad to say. I know you've heard it over and over again but you are such a blessing. Most folks who are either retired or disabled are unable to remove the snow from their driveways or walkways. Our city demands everyone clear their snow within 24 hours of it falling and if the city has to remove it they charge the resident a fine. It's a shame because most of these folks live on a seriously limited income. Above all we really need to treat our elders better than that and sadly gone are the days of the neighborhood kids offering up their snow shoveling and lawn mowing services. So I reiterate...God bless you!

Yes sir! Been taking care of my neighbors lawn and snow since I moved in 6 years ago. She appreciates it and now I take my son on the mower and she loves seeing him ride on it with his ear muffs on 😂

Been ten years since I’ve had to do this awful back breaking job. Don’t miss it what’s so ever. Lived in northeast Ohio on Lake Erie so yeah lots of snow. about 158 inches a yr on average. You’re a good man Kev ✝️🇺🇸

I fell down my snowy drive a couple of years ago , when I say down its almost 45 degrees to the house at the bottom and down I went head first ! Broke my wrist in several places , tore tendons and ligaments it was a real mess . I was only in my 40' s and thought it'd get better quickly , oh no , it was over a year and it's still weak today . For an elderly person that would be much more difficult to recover from . Another great act of kindness Kevin 💟

My town gets over 100 inches of snow every year. That snow is the HEAVY wet snow! I hope you have good health, peace and prosperity!!!!
