AMA!!! I had to pause the video. Sis you hit these points on the head. Especially about the friends part. I even struggle with this issue with my family. Despite all I say, they do not believe me and act like I'm lying about my circumstances. So people definitely try and use those they think they can get something out of. Its sad but not everyone who smiles in your face has good intentions.

You really touched on all the things I took for granted because of my western life style. Money runs so fast in Ghana especially if you don't understand the power of the cedi. It took me almost two weeks while I was there to figure out how much money I was giving away and spending. And the internet thing oh boy, it was tough getting used to limited amount. Being there made me realize how addicted westerner's are to internet. Wishing you the best on your business there.

@Deshone Robinson this is absolutely false those moving to the US is because they want to and are lazy and don't want to work. I live in Ghana in my own house and things are pretty cheap if you are able to bargain also we aren't poor and this girl lives in some rural part of Ghana

    • @kaykwakye9022

Deshone Robinson let me help you here. 1. Ghana is not a poor country. Ghana is a lower middle income country. What this means is basic infrastructure is in place for the most part but they are not at the level of say the USA or Germany or Canada. BUT that is what makes Ghana so ripe for opportunity. Black Americans moving back to Ghana are looking to make use of these opportunities to build businesses while also being part of the growth story of Ghana. And to @riana I don’t think Jasmine necessarily lives in a rural part of Ghana. Most likely she lives in a growing part of the Accra metro.

    Hi Jasmine,
This was an interesting video. I've been watching your journey for a while and has gained useful insights into what it is like to live in Ghana.
Ghana is so strikingly similar to my home Jamaica! That last hand washing reminds of a distant past when I did and observed the same things growing up... but it's so natural and beautiful. A lady has to be very strong to bend like that for hours to wash.
Continue documenting, and I will stay posted.
By the way, I have never seen that fruit before. what is it called?

The system in Ghana isn't working, we don't see it as something wrong that need fixing. I quite remember around 2003 was in the courts at ministries, for my case to be brought forward before the trial judge, the court clerks need to retrieve my file and you know something they can't find my file, like 30min and someone alerted me if i don't part with something small the clerk is not going to find my folders, as soon as i gave out something they found my folders. Of all places the courts, God save us
