I got this from a lyric in the chorus “gave the rent for a high.” I think it also shows toxic coping strategies that end up hurting yourself more too. Pluto is the name of the greek god of the afterlife, so basically pluto is about crybaby or Melanie wanting a change and pluto (or death/becoming a new person) is a solution to this. The lyrics in death "death has come to me, kiss me on the cheek, it gave me closure" further proves this . And the lyrics in pluto "I'll bathe in my ashes, rise like a phoenix" most likely refer to crybaby being reborn in the song death. Another way of saying that Pluto is a prequel to Death! (or atleast in my opinion)
