@Dacholo in big metropolitan geographical areas such as L.A. San Francisco, Houston etc there is a abundant number of Asian communities, now for example in the rural areas like the plains geographical area for example you don't really see Asian communities. So, they strive to make the American dream in big city's where there are more opportunities for growth.
I lived in Santa Fe and it's a tale of two cities. One side of the railroad tracks is full of rich white people in subarus and mountain climbing jackets and the other is impoverished Latinos and native Americans being pulled over by the cops all up and down the street.

Frank Good yup there ain't no gangs in Santa fe I love going to Santa to go shopping. And there's a lot of good places and parks, and rich naiberhoods. I'm from. Espanola, and that's where real shit happen, but not as bad as like Baltimore, Chicago, or Compton, but for a small town it's bad, I saw a baby girl die in my naiberhood. And it was in the tv news, not to long ago a summer ago a teen was shot by a Wal-Mart gas station in espana, and another teen also killed a few months after the other one.

Well the public schools in Santa Fe; such as, Capital High and Santa Fe High are full of impoverished students (kids) from broken homes. They bond together over their struggles and find out drug dealing is easy money. Most of these students believe/know they could never afford or are prepared enough for a college-level education. These are not your Santa Fe Prep or Saint Michaels kids whose parents pay 10k a month in tuition.
I’m from Española, NM and attended UNM and became a Chemical Engineer but my years in the public education system were intense. The education was complete trash and I was treated differently because I kept my head down and focused on learning beyond the education provided in class. I was 1 out of 3 students in calculus I&2 as a sophomore and I graduated early. Getting out can be done but it comes at the cost of self-isolation, loneliness, and depression. Don’t be so harsh on theses kids.

My son lives in Abq and my Daughter just moved there for school. I am ok with having them both there in the city.

Love seeing both sides. I got a lil of both growing up. Definitely more privileged as I grew older which wasn't a bad thing, lord knows where my life could've gone. But it's healthy to see what life could've been like had my dad not taken care of us the way he did, had my mom not gotten more serious and out of her funk the way she did. And it really allows people to see that these kids and these people aren't just some gang bangers or drug dealers, they're humans like everyone else with their own unique reasons and stories. It's like someone else said, New Mexico can be dangerous, or it can be safe. Just like anywhere else.

I hear sante fe is super expensive to live in. Probably still more affordable than denver. Here, what used to be the hood with $13,000 homes, are now $700,000, or more.
Its a big problem in Northern NM because you get both sides of the coin, extremely rich-like movies stars- and really poor. The National Lab in los alamos effects the housing in Santa and Espanola increasing the cost of living out of a lot of peoples means. Perpetuating poverty

This is my least favorite video that you have posted. Maybe it's my 'white culture' or maybe it's the fact that this guy gives excuses and hasn't left the life yet. All of the other videos you have posted showed progress. This guy is still in the rut. He hasn't 'survived' anything. He plays the 'victim' every well. He is still in the game, and he CHOOSES to do so. Everyone else that you have recorded has moved on and learned from their experience or has at least tried to. Nothing has changed for this guy. I lived in Santa Fe for some time. I noticed alot of the youth did drugs. The environment there is very hostile for younger folks that are middle class or less. since it is too expensive to live a good life style I think that's why so many have a hard life numbing the pain with drugs and alcohol.

Ive only seen real indians in the reservations. Going and staying with them and seeing and hearing stories around bon fires: seeing traditions unfold... Those were and are the real indians in my opinion. They live poor but are real rich inside. To me thats all that counts.

I recently broke up with my bf of 5 years bout 5/6 months ago.. when we were together he had a lot of respect in the streetz because he could make money..lets just say it was like our own lil market for goods with our own crew him being the main...
