I cant imagine how hard it must have been for both parents and the kids when they are admitted from a very young age. In my case I went to TCV from my sixth grade and I still remember how I holded myself from crying when the time came for my dad to leave me at the KHIMSTANG doorstep, watching him go away until he was nowhere from my sight. I was anxious what tomorrows going to be like and to be honest the feeling of suddenly being all alone is definitely something that should not even be worded. My first two days went with me trying to cope with the fact that I am in the boarding school and third day definitely make me break out because of the realization hitting me hard that now this is my daily thing, to live on without my parents nearby, to somehow I have to make this thing workout. For real ! if a sixth grader like me felt this much definitely her being so young must have felt much more, and to be honest it was worth it. Being in the boarding school, being surrounded by such environment that TCV provides, and being reliant on myself (kinda like oh! I'm my own boss) really taught be throughout the years and has been the only memories that i remember and rant the most.😭
definitely there is no superior feeling than seeing your parents on second Saturday. I remember cleaning my messy cupboards and decorating the walls near my bed (in hostel) the night before they come. Idk if parents knows but no matter what their children performance regarding academic level or behaviour wise, they really are trying their best coping in school both emotionally and mentally, so give them the time they need...... because even the kid labeled as the worst turns out to be way better later, its just that they needed longer time to adapt than the others (different people have different pace)
