Oh lovely memories I had growing up there. That is the market I grew up buying from I grew up in Ebutte meta ha the only market where I know I can get any and everything! But one tip is don't speak grammar and don't dress lavishly then go very early especially on Saturdays. Thank you sisi yemmie for sharing this video
Wow sisi thanks for taking us there.. i remember my child good stage my mum would always take me there... we normally buy a lot that would last us for a while..... even last week my sis put to bed my mum still visits the market for her omugwu shopping for my sis. Wow what a memory to remember.
Thank you sisi for sharing, whenever I come back home, I'll definitely visit this market. Its really unbelievable the prices of things now in Nigeria, for instance the bonger fish and water yam 🍠 please I'm a new food blogger, wondering if you could encourage me even if it's sharing one of my videos 🙏🏻🙏🏻
This so much reminds me of my childhood in my birth country and when I visited the markets in Jamaica West Indies, even with the sudden rain. I love the market experience and being able to purchase fresh and organic foods.❤ I really enjoy seeing this video. I feel like bargaining now.😆 Thanks for sharing.👍🏽👍🏽
It is worth it cause as you said bulk shopping. So it's a place you go once or twice a month after all people be going to events and stuff hours away every weekend.
Any time I enter Nigeria the next early morning (05:00) am in Oyingbo market to buy everything that we will use during our stay in bulk. Going very early is Better and quicker
I enjoyed watching this. It took my memories years back in those days my late mum shop her market sales here. I can see the market was rebuild. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for this clip❤❤. As a Diasporan I love watching such clips inoder to get a vague idea as to what the normal family go though when it comes to buying foodstuffs. I am shocked & sad at the ASTRONOMICAL prices of basic foodstuffs,& ask myself, HOW DO PEOPLE SURVIVE with such prices?..
Sisi,I have been to this oyingbo market before when I came to Nigeria(2016/2017). One thing I like about this market is the varieties of dry fish they have here. This Market is a place to be.
I always go to Oyingbo market whenever I wan to cook bulk soups especially Afang and vegetable soups As for the yellow pepper I usually buy 1painter … I steam first before blending and storing in the freezer so that it won’t change color while in the freezer Oyingbo is good for soup ingredients and crayfish and stock fish in bulk
Sisi Yemmie this is nice. But there is another part that sells cheaper inside Oyingbo. Even fufu😁. Oyingbo is my go to market for somethings. While Mile 12 is for tomatoes. Weldone Sis
Sis the floors are now dried. If you had gone during the rainy days, arh, omo the floors will be so messed up but Oyingbo market is one of the best for food stuffs.
I live in ajah, and I go to oyingbo once a month. I buy everything in bulk. Grind my amala fresh and all. Also, sisi you didn't enter the main market! That one will drain you 🤣🤣🤣
I was looking for water yam here in USA not knowing it's white yam they call it here. I'm so glad I found it. I made my first ikokore last week after 7 years 😄.
My mum used to shop in this market , my word, it's changed a lot though. I haven't gone there in ages, been meaning to go there for bulk food stuff but haven't gotten round to it Ojare🥰❤❤ Yep we definitely need the Crayfish skincare routine 😁
No rules no one gets sick Nigeria is a free country just look at how the people control and sell what they eat ❤❤❤ in some places before u will sell something they will give u rules 😂😂😂😂 talk about land of the free
Nice marketvlog, thank you for sharing. It rain a bit I ibadan too today. Sorry for the water yam. Waw, thanks for sharing the place to buy spices in bulk.
How much did the peppersoup spices cost in the end? The crayfish and oporo are very clean n cost effective 👌. Please did you get contact details for those packaging to send abroad?
Sisi, it's good that you went there but you still need the requisite skills to be able to maximize your chances. Some of them were already cheating you especially the spice sellers
This kind of market looks very good. Everything can be found over there. But my problem with that is the hygiene. And there is no expiry date on stuff sold in this type of market.
Oyingbo market is the number one fish market in Lagos. If you want to save money just go there before 6:30am. I tell you with 30k you will buy a truck load. I will be visiting the market before Christmas. I wish I can take you guys along.
ahahaha, Sisi, lemon 3 #500 for shoprite? which shoprite oo? the one close to be 1 sel na #375. I really missed that market, I go there when I was in Surulere, I spend 5k and go home with a lot of things then, well that was over 6 years ago. Going there from Lekki side is a whole lot of stress for me. Time, energy, traffic. Yes, once in 3 months is okay.
I'm actually surprised,as a lagosian, you don't know oyinbo market.Between yaba and straight down from ojuelegba,surulere..lt's probably the only market and balogun market that l remember in Nigeria. Well,l still remember sabon gari market in kano faintly. The rain is part of what happens living in coastal cities,if you were in the middlebelt the rain gives you a weeks warning at least. ⚠️ 🤣😂 Next time get the grapefruits as well, very good for weight loss, for the guts and new mothers.lf nigerians know the health benefit of all this food, some of us probably won't japa.Thank you.
sometimes the way you talk in your voice-overs makes me giggle and sometimes laugh sef...anyways, you are doing a good job keep it up, please...I love your channel alot...🥰🤪 abeg no be only women dey like enter kitchen...me I like good food ooo...so me sef dey enter too... 🥰😜🤭❤👍
I prefer the light akpon. It has a much cleaner look than the dark one and to me, the flavor seems lighter too. Have you ever tried Ijebu garri eba? That “kan” taste makes a difference and makes the food even more delicious. To me oh! Sisi Yemmie, considering you’re a foodie and someone who does a lot of cooking vlogs, I’m surprised you’re not familiar with Oyingbo market. Lots of people from abroad sef go there to buy their stash for traveling with. Yeah since you now have a studio you should consider getting stuff from there. I think once in three months is reasonable. Just stock up with enough to last that long.
The prices of things here ee, you'd think Nigeria don finally spoil patapata. But when you go to the mainland, and you see pineapple for #150 or 200, and you're like howwww???
Explore the market more next time. For dry fish and stockfish you'd have to walk out of that big building. The main market is not in that mighty building you're seeing. It's in the adjoining streets.
Ahh I also grew up in Ebute Metta in Simpson Street Oyingbo Market was my local market as well as Sabo Market.
The way they are calling the "Thousand" ehn, is just scattering my head. I remember when it used to be "hundred" Chai!!!
Wow sisi thanks for taking us there.. i remember my child good stage my mum would always take me there... we normally buy a lot that would last us for a while..... even last week my sis put to bed my mum still visits the market for her omugwu shopping for my sis. Wow what a memory to remember.
Am I the first to comment? Wow. I miss this market. I always go there very early in the morning.

Hand peeled Egusi seeds are clean without dirt and the machine peeled egusi contains dirt that you need to pick out before blending.

Chai you just made me miss Naija 😢. I love visiting Oyingbo market, when it comes to Foodstuff I give it to them.
This so much reminds me of my childhood in my birth country and when I visited the markets in Jamaica West Indies, even with the sudden rain. The smoked shawa fish seller said 50pcs for N12,000 and 10 pcs for N2,000.

Bulk buying is the way forward even more now with the way inflation is going
