Just noticed on these opening credits that the Music is credited to Mark Mothersbaugh. Wow, talk about Freedom of Choice. My mind is blown. The plot thickens.
I asked Chris when the show would be out on DVD. This was probably 2006, so not long after the show ended. He was obviously irritated and frustrated by this and said, "I don't know, lawyers are sitting in conference rooms, costing money and getting nowhere". I'm sure the issue is residuals on the music which is not his. He had a lot of other artists on the show playing their music, and their record companies want their pound of flesh. It is most likely not feasible for him to release these on DVD monetarily after giving them their cut. I am so glad you have put these on TH-cam, I have been searching all these years. I am a big fan and really liked the show. I had many of them on my DVR and my daughter recorded over them. She has pretty much healed up, you can barely see the scars anymore.
One of my all-time favorites that I didn't "get" at first but somewhere early, I loved it. If only it hadn't been restricted to SHOWTIME-!! And while I was dismissive of ST for a long time before this show, their refusal to make this available on home-video still rankles. But I am sooo glad they're here... and still here in 2024!

I want the entire series also! When I met him at a show I asked him if we would ever be able to get it he said there were so many things that would have to be worked out because of all the guests! I love this show! How long ago was it I can’t remember!
I remember this show i was probably 20. I knew about chris as an artist didn't really know much about him all the same but he had this cool nonchalant attitude like a mix of elvis and roy orbison..mmm man time flys. He looked good then I guess he was probably over 40 then and looked younger. Hard to think of him over 60 man what a trip... I don't even know if he was an actor up to this point but the whole show he just seemed so natural and relatable, easy going. I think this was a really good show

Loved this show. One question- why did Chris have an actor play the keyboardist? That guy was in "Galaxy Quest" I think. Whatever, he wasn't in Isaak's band, and he adds little to the plots.
The worst career move anyone could have made--Chris Isaak as palpable and relatable; it's like if Lou Reed had a sitcom. Let us put aside the fact that the writing in this series is bland, the acting insufferable, and the plots so thin you could shoot a paperclip through them, the real problem is Isaak himself. He is just too damn pedestrian. He's often not Adonis good-looking, his voice is occasionally less than godsent, he is not always immaculately coiffed. He really can't act a lick, and he's VULNERABLE and it's weird. Weird like finding out Superman is allergic to cotton Weird. Chris should have stayed underground. He should have remained in Lynchean semi-obscurity. He should have remained a godawfully handsome voice like an angel enigma.
