I love this "review". So natural, no editing, showing things as they are. Hit the nail on the head! You know what you are talking about. I have 60 years in computers behind me and I can recognize an expert when I see one. For myself, the main reason to buy a projector is to achieve a larger picture, of equal or better quality to a TV, for the same or cheaper price. In New Zealand, 4K smart TVs up to 65 inch are pretty cheap. It is difficult to find a 4K projector that competes purely on price. At the moment, once you go higher than 65 inch buying something like the ViewSonic in this video is a "no-brainer". Achieving a 4K 120 inch image in my small 3m x 3m "Home Cinema" room at the ViewSonic price would be magic. It is also much more portable and easy to manage than a large TV. In addition, this projector is really good for gaming. Like you, I do not watch ordinary TV. I can connect it to my gaming PC for flight simulation and sim racing and watch TH-cam and other streaming websites. I just bought an entry level projector to get me started, but this is the sort of projector that I am eventually wanting to buy. After watching this "review" I might just buy it anyway!!!

Can you make a video where you max out ultra short throw projectors and push them past their boundaries? I'd love to see how far back you can go before the image gets blurry and how large you can get the image to cast!
Basically any LCD TV with local dimming will look miles better than any projector when calibrated. If you get a great Sony or LG OLED, you probably don’t even need to calibrate them when using their movie modes.
