Sounds like the players had a well-deserved session and night out on the town. Also, many posters are bashing Wrexham for having "rich owners" and comparing them to City. There are plenty of football clubs with rich owners. It's how well they are invested and and involved that matter. Not many owners fall in love with, not just the club, but also the community. I hope you Brits appreciate that.

Exactly! I'm from Scotland, live in Glasgow with the two biggest teams in the country coming from this city and know roughly how much money is involved in these two clubs... It's a fair whack but nothing compared to the likes of the English leagues!!!
I also seriously doubt that Ryan & Rob combined have ANYTHING even close to the capital that most of the (invisible/shadow) owners have in their pots that own any of the Premier League teams!
Some of those owners are multi, multi billionaires... That's a whole different scale of wealth that tips the balance against Wrexham if they do manage to get that far!

Comparing 2 private citizen actors with a few million to corrupt nation states with unlimited sovereign wealth funds is laughable. Wrexham is not sportswashing. They are not laundering dirty money. They aren't cooking the books illegally...
And they were already a big club before the investment, unlike city...

      @11matt11 ปีที่แล้ว +5

@@ollie6286 This team is good enough to be in contention to be promoted from League Two to League One next year. But expect some huge editions, because they will get at least 8 million dollar burst in revenues. They will need a couple of League One midfielders, another top striker and to get their keeper issues sorted, though Ben Foster is starting to lean to come back. Once they make it to League One, a lot will change. Their back line goes from being an asset, to a liability, and their wingers who should rule league two, Barnett and Mendy, will be in much tougher in League One. Only Mullin will be a top player by that point, which is why getting the right players this summer is so important. But very few players are Championship Level. Maybe Only Mullin and Hayden, and maybe Elliot Lee in the right system, but they will need to really improve a lot. So expect a push next year for promotion, but to slow down when they are league One, as they need acquire Championship players,. If you move too fast, it costs too much.

I definitely think they will be a force to be reckoned with in L2, even with their current squad as it is. Reaching the Championship within the next 5 years certainly seems very doable. Premier League might be a bit of a stretch but you never know.
We have seen it in the recent past with the unexpected rapid rise through the pyramid of the likes of Hull, Bournemouth and now Luton- who have gone from non-league to competing for a place in the EPL in less than a decade. I don't see why Wrexham cannot be a similar success story.

I think they will add on, and should be a favorite for League two, barring major injuries. League One will be tougher, and Mullin will have to have a better striker partner, where Paul can use his amazing vision and ball skills. But they will have such a money advantage in League One with getting 10 million a year from the Doc, then merchandising and ticket sales, I think it will be only two years there.
The Championship is where they lose their huge advantages. But they have done such amazing signing as Barnett, Mendy and O'Connell, that have helped them be a favorite for League Two, I feel player signings have been their quiet best attributes which will serve them well in the Championship.
Also if they get stuck between the Championship and League One, the City of Wrexham will still be ecstatic and very proud. It's Rob, really, that won't be able to accept it, because that's his vision to make it to the PL.

It's an issue that all of Europe and especially the US has, no shortage of production of wealth that could be used to improve the lives and many sectors of their nations yet it all goes abroad instead to help people who won't even help themselves but just want it for free.

@Fire TV Cesspit? I'm curious where you're basing that on. It's not that they need to be impressed but if 0.01% of Americans bought a shirt that would be 33,000 shirts sold. It's the buying power that we have that's impressive. It should also be noted that Wrexham is more popular of a team than almost any domestic league team in the US or Canada.

Boehly and Co aren't picking formations or any of that, they've simply bought players and bought a manager they thought were good for the future. They've also hired executives who know how to run a football club and have been mostly sitting back and letting them make decisions. It wasn't his decision to sack potter either, that was the board. But of course you lot want to take a stab because you don't like his approach and he's pretty much had the same approach roman had I.E. splashing the cash.

    • @victorkreig6089

Except as much as I hate Roman he actually bought players that were capable of fitting into the system
Bohley hasn't done that here at all, he went for the city approach which was just buy the most talented players he could manage to drag away from their clubs. That's why city was such a joke in the 00's, only reason they showed any kind of competition to speak of was because Aguero would regularly pull their asses out of the fire(and that traitor Tevez)

1989, the Orient playoff, the first year that they had playoffs. I flew in from Budapest, was late for the match, we were 1-0 up and lost 2-1, the first of 6 playoffs we have lost.
2019, the year you went up, we started the match top of the National league and ended it with you top of the league. We even dropped out of the playoffs.
