Prediction. This will be the year the 49er special teams unit becomes elite. Why? Moody is damned close as a rookie and will be even better. Wishnowsky is great. With the new rules, and the 49ers focus, a load of one cut speed backs and other playmakers focused on YAC, they are poised to be really good on coverage and a bunch of fresh legs from corners and safeties and LB will help on return. Take that and add that Brock will be even better. Already got the best D and O combo. Yeah, this is the best roster. But like you said, that don't mean squat with injuries at the wrong time to the wrong players.
I agree, but the one thing no one considers is what he does during the week. We just see an excellent player and want him on the field more, kyle sees every snap he’s ever taken. We don’t know, and wouldn’t know, if he’s been fumbling in practice, missing assignments, etc..
. In regards to Miguel (below) You don’t give up on a 3rd round pick. John & Kyle will be patient. A little history lesson: neither Joe or Steve started out well, it took awhile.
Just to confirm, players on the practice squad cannot be poached by other teams unless the player agrees to the contract (and the new team much elevate the player to the 53 roster).
Good afternoon, David, late afternoon, in fact it's the evening... yet another fine report/update and analyzing... the best in the west... Mr. Lombardi... paisano. ciao sidenote: Being butterfly is quite a character...
I see Guerendo when he returns, as an HBack more than RB3, which would entail going with three TEs. Pline to PS, but he could move up before the end of the year
No I don't think it is at all. Did the 49ers address the offensive line issues? Have they gotten a decent running back to spell out McCaffrey and keep him fresh? What are they planning to do at safety? Ok cool beans.
Signing Dre early was a Win-Win for both sides. They probably got him cheaper than if they had waited, and Dre got guaranteed money just in case he sustained a serious injury (which he did, and hopefully he comes back 100%). If Aiyuk decides to bet on himself and play out his $14.1 Mil contract, he risks having a serious injuy and losing all leverage. I thought Lamar Jackson was crazy to represent himself and turn down guaranteed money. But in the end, he didn't get hurt, had a great year, and got more guaranteed money as a result. It's a classic Risk/Reward scenario.
I wouldn't count the Chiefs as a SB team yet. Even if they are, the Niners stand a very good chance of winning. Having the best roster will help. It's really about the quality of the depth. If it's the Chiefs, being able to sustain pressure on Mahomes could get that elusive 6th Lombardi.
😂 The only issue is practice squad has to pass thru waivers n other teams can pouch practice squad player for their active 53. So practice squad is really for a developmental player or journeyman vet. Injuries can happen in camp or preseason, Niners use the pup IR list to keep players on roster. Mitchell n Luter was on it for beginning of season. Assume it doesn't count on 53.
The 49ers can't have the best roster with an OL that ranks 26th! This is going on year EIGHT, and we've heard every excuse in the book as to why the 49ers haven't upgraded the OL. Brock Purdy was pressured on FORTY PERCENT of his drop backs in the Super Bowl. The NFL average is twenty percent. Yes, playoff teams are better, but that number shouldn't double.
fans are so predictable-hating on a fan favorite whenever they're negotiating for a bag. that's all anxiety. the player is supposed to do what they need to get the bag. stop hating on BA cuz yall sensi
The Niners need to go get Tyler Shatley the 2nd string lineman for the Jags!!! Tyler Shatley is one of the most underrated Lineman in the NFL!!!?! He played over 450 snaps last year and no sacks or QB pressures and 0 penalties!!!. The Jags went 6 n 1 last year when he played 88% of the snaps with the 1 lose to Cleveland " The best D in the league last year" and still scored 27 pts.!! In his 1st 8 years in the league he only has had just 7 penalties with some years he played most of the seasons!!!! Why won't the Niners go get a player like him. Cheap and good!!! He stays healthy!!!! The mans a football version of the Great Wall of the NFL!! Yet he's a 2nd string player!?!? I don't get it!!! I don't. Go get these good players that are cheap and dependable!!!!
How and why do you have jordan mason behind guerrendo? I dont agree. Everything ive seem on the field i want mason number 2 to cmc. Then cody and isaac fight for 3rd string. Jetison mitchell. Ok, it's official. I heard u say something David that is 100% blowing my mind. Did u say mason is on the bubble? Omg if niners try to "sneak" him onto practice squad say bye bye to mason and he is 100% going to be a stud and make the niners look like a bunch of turds if he's not on this 53. Please, when u say things like that can u back it up with actual reasoning? Ur channel is all about stats...when mason has been given his opportunity on the field he has done extremely well. Not sure we r watching the same team. What have u seen on the practice field? Ive heard he has improved with pass catching. Is it his blocking?
@@DavidLombardiis mason available though? He's always injured. I want someone on the field behind cmc that will be there. Im sorry i disagree. Quick numbers 3.7yd avg for mitchell. 5.2yd for mason. I dont get it. When i watch both of them run i see mason as a natural nfl rb. Mitchell is a glass cannon and gets injured and im always thinking ok when is he going to get hurt.
I agree with your sentiment, but we have no idea what Mason does in practice. Kyle isn’t going to come out and say, “he’s fumbled every week for the last month,” or “he’s missing assignments during practice,” etc… I see a great back on the field and agree with you. But I’m smart enough to know that there’s much more information that the coach has.
I don't agree on teams being worn down after so many seasons chiefs pats did it for years including 49ers They got rest sence the SB 🏆 😆 Like saying i worked three or four years straight with no vacation vs someone with a vacation if anything i feel worn down after a vacation vs working straight through i get Davids point but lets not pretend other teams are not beat up
Go back and look at Adam Vinatieri's rookie season: 77% on FG's and missed THREE XP's! Moody hit 84%, was a perfect 3/3 of 50+ yards in the post season, had the Super Bowl record at one point, and his only XP miss all season was because of poor blocking!
On paper this sounds good going into a season but in the post season Kyle’s philosophy and play design with 6 pro bowlers on a 11 man offense disappears and sucks bottom line!! Every offseason Kyle does not prioritize O-line or QB protection! In Super Bowl loss it shows up! In post season against good teams and good coaches Kyle’s scheme weakness get exposed way too easily!!Offense is based around CMC yet in the Super Bowl Kyle went away from CMC and tired his defense out! Blown offense series so many 3 and outs it was ridiculous!!
hopefully it’s a bowl winning team this season

Dave I use to live in Bakersfield now we are in Mooresville N C. I really enjoy your channel. Your on top of of it brother. 🍷🍷🍷
Unfortunately “the best roster” doesn’t always win the SB. It goes to the team that plays their best football in crucial games which we do NOT do.

Thank you

Heard that thunder!!!

Historically hard to make 49ers squad, but need some rookies to stay stocked and beat the Cap. Solution means cutting some established talent.

We need a backup QB,2nd TE,FS,DE,C,RT!
Does anyone trust Dobbs as our backup quarterback?
We need to trade for Tristian Wirffs to play RT and then we will have the best roster

Sorry David, but without even seeing Guerendo in an ACTUAL NFL game, how can you possibly say he's better than Mason? Doesn't make sense.
it doesnt matter if we have the best roster....Andy Reid keeps beating Kyle at chess.
correct. Even with best roster in NFC they are neck and neck with GB and Detroit
You can't just go with last season chiefs 49ers are the only consistent teams so that's 🐂♉@@josephkoenig2646
Kyle has to outsmart him
If Dre Greenlaw doesn’t get hurt running onto the field, we win.
