Great clarity in this performance. First time I've ever heard the lift or subway bell third interval chime bell that is then echoed by the strings in the three descending sustained notes. Something about this first section always brings me to tears. Perhaps it's the paradoxical sense of calm created over all the layers of noise and motion.
For my ear -- as with some of P. Glass's work -- this could crossover to popular markets. Or at least I would program it. Saturday night if I owned the dance club.
