Forging a Viking Sword. The sword was lobbed over the wall. Will it be okay?

How powerful are the swords of the warrior of Vikings?
I tried to forging it with Viking's original Damascus pattern.
It seems to be more advantageous for cutting than a longsword.
Blade length is 78cm and weight is 1.24Kg. It's lighter than a longsword but it's a one-handed sword. So I feel it is a bit heavy.
I missed the sword during the cutting test because of oil on the handle leather.
It was lobbed 20m and fell 3m down into a creek... Will it be okay?
