Like a few others said the car would be a 1979-1985 Cadillac Eldorado, Buick Riviera, Oldsmobile Toronado... Older versions 60's -early 70's did not have catalytic convertors and were a lot larger..The 79-85 though big/long by todays standards were Mid Size back then as they shrunk in size from the 78 and older versions. Hope you go down there one day and stay safe! This channel is very entertaining!
@@reverserockettv007 I'll go with 1979-1985 "E" car (Riviera, Toronado, Eldorado) as I spot torsion bars and that's a GM/Eldorado. I'll go 1979-1980 as that appears to be the older style catalytic converter. 1981 and up was a different style on most GM models.
29:06 that tall rock 🪨 formation is so neat !!! Be careful with the cactus!!🌵 I loved this video even if you didn’t touch the car 🚙!!! The palm tree oasis is about the neatest thing!!!! at this point you almost gave me a heart attack being at the end of that cliff!!! But thanks again!! And I want to see what was living in the palm tree 🌴 lol 😂
I believe one of these days while it’s winter I will hike from another direction and make it there. You can’t even hike in this area in the summer the temperatures are deadly!
Hi, The word failure has nothing to do in this video : The visit to this canyon and the magnificent pictures you bring back are a success !! The car ( a GM model of the late seventies? ) is located and approached by the drone ; it's better to leave it there because the ground seems unstable and falling rocks are not excluded ( stones can be seen on the chassis of the car). Nice Work.
I am no Geologist, Mario, but I think that rough round hole in that granite boulder was where another, older and harder rock, had popped out of it, as the granite boulder had weathered away. Remember the rock we saw sticking out of that granite boulder a few videos back.? The grinding holes (to grind up acorns usually) that the Native Americans made in the granite boulders are real distictive looking. They are usually about only 3-4" across and about 5-6"deep, and very smooth to thetouch usually there will be3 or 4 or more in close proximity to each other. You'll know them when you see them.
Those palms in the wash are strange. Usually when you find palms in the middle of a desert rocky landscape it is where a miner had his cabin and they were specifically planted as decoration but nobody is going to put their cabin right in a wash like that.
Very Beautiful area & lots Palm Trees & Cactus glad you show it all & The Radios are a Great Idea to use while your Hiking ....Im into Ham Radio & Citizens Band regular talkies ....im sure theres lots people into Ham Radio there & lots Repeaters stay safe
big GM with independit rear suspensin with early catalictic converter front wheel drive would be olds or cadillac late 70,s since you found it with the drone I would say it counts as one you found way to go
Just started watching, and I'm wondering are those plants, or baby Joshua Trees? Maybe next time I'll wait till the end to ask what a plant is......cause about 2 minutes later you answered my question! Lol
Wonder where the wheels went... was it pushed after taking certain pieces off? Either way, you got a really cool 70s Chevy hubcap! I wanna say that belonged to a 4x4 squarebody or an RV? I love the design!
I'm with the others who said it's a 79-85 Oldsmobile Toronado, Caddy Eldorado or Buick Riviera. Weird place for it to be, for sure. Maybe it got shoved further down that ravine in the years after the crash by either water flow, rock slides, or seismic activity? And as far as it being crashed by someone jamming the parking brake on while it was driving at considerable speed, that would be about impossible due to the parking brake being a foot-applied type, located on the driver's side floor in the left kick panel area. Not saying it couldn't be done, but that would be quite the feat for anyone but the driver to apply, especially hard enough to lock the rear brakes. Stay safe, man! You're getting FAR too close to major cliffs for my liking. I mean....like if you slip near the edge, you could slide right off. Then again, I am scared of heights myself, so....take that as you may. Take care, brother.
I think the lady was confused with this being the car. I believe the car she is talking about has been recovered because I can’t find it on google earth. Thanks for watching!
Another great video! That terrain looks hammered by earth quakes! How close are you to any major faults? San Andreas? Those two way radios are only good for line of sight communication, and shouldn’t be relied on for your safety I’m stumped with the car, definitely not the Pontiac mentioned earlier! The car appears to be old, yet has trailing arm rear suspension and a catalyst? Any chance you can put your Latitude, longitude coordinates on the screen, as it’d great to look at the area you’re in per video Keep up the great work RR Tom UK 🇬🇧
Too bad you didn't use a drone at the outset to track your progress toward the car. Your friend could have told you how close/far away from the car you were going. As far as I could see, you were walking blind! And get better grade of walkie talkies!
1979-1985 GM E-Body (Cadillac Eldorado, Buick Riviera, Oldsmobile Toronado). Front wheel drive platform with rear independent suspension (designed by Cadillac). Judging on the side trim and space between the front bumper guards, this is a Riviera coupe - the rare convertible model would have had sway bars. I should get a job with the FBI.
Monolith style converter which typically went away by the end of the 1980 model year. 1981 and up had a three-way catalyst in most cases and the converters were a different shape.
full size gm front wheel drive, cad- buick,olds.. It" s not the 72 Lemans mentioned earlier.. That" s one for you to search for. Find that Pontiac Lemans, since The lady who posted earlier, may know the general location, of the accident !
I agree that it's a GM FWD luxury coupe ( either a Cadillac Eldorado, Buick Riviera, Oldsmobile Toronado). Don't beat yourself up. Seeing as the catalytic converter appears to still be present, is proof it's VERY VERY DIFFICULT to get to the car!
Earthquakes 🌍, landslides, and the weather will continue to pull these vehicles 🚗 gradually down the cliff. That may be hard to believe, but I got to thinking 💭 about it the other day. I’d invest in a work harness, and some strong 💪 rope, if you’re wanting to check out such precarious places. Even if wedged against a tree 🌲, sitting 🪑 in a vehicle 🚗 on a cliff can be very dangerous. Your friend, Jeff.
The bra and the drip system you found were interesting, especially being right there together. It's possible they had some Marijuana seedlings they were trying to nurture into existence and they were using Spring-runoff as the water source. We were finding little Marijuana grow operations back on the Ortega Hwy now and then, back in the days of severe Felonies. And everyone was super paranoid of not having the plants at their homes. One guy was even using the drinking water system at Upper San Juan Campground to water his little seedlings!
It's a front wheel drive car with a catalytic converter.. Looks like a V6 or V8 and automatic transmission. I think it's a late 70's Cadillac Eldorado. 2 door with Chrome bumpers.
Nice work Bro 😢 dang that is freaking rugged country. Happy to know you have a partner with you . I have to log of now but I will watch the remainder of your You Tube Video later tonight. Maybe the elements carried that clothing from another part of the area. Enjoyed you're adventures.
Your instincts on danger are still on the money, Buddy. Had you tried to get down to this one, they would very well might have had to do a rescue or body recovery on you!
Hey, great video again. You are entertaining people I believe this woman and her boyfriend's story on this car, myself. I think maybe they were meant to see this and tell the story. What are the odds of that?! The wheelwells and front bumper and chrome trim looks like it would match an early 70's Pontiac Lemans too, I think. But then again...I wonder, like some of the others if this is a different, possibly stolen and dumped car...since it is so very far in there. When you first walked in it looked like you might be on an old road or two-track that had since grown in. If I am right about that...that is probably how it got so deep in there, and then they probably rolled it off toward the cliff from there. But I believe the accident story for sure. I just wonder if this might be a similar but different car.
😢@@reverserockettv007I edited it and modified it somewhat. Some of those guys might be right about it being a stolen and dumped car. It's a mystery for sure.
that's some wicked rugged terrain there boss. Grab the bottom of the drone with your hand and use the auto takeoff on the phone to launch out. Avoid launching/landing on dirt cause it kicks up dirt and gets into the motors

I’m not sure how far it is from faults? I agree the 2 way radios are trash. 🤭🤭🤭
The early 1970 lemans cars had the emergency brake on the drivers side near the drivers door,so I don't think it happened quite that that way!!!
🤭🤭🤭
1975-1985 GM or Ford full size, two door coupe. It has single exhaust and a cat converter. Ford LTD or Mercury Marquis perhaps???
Love the agave and succulents!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks!
That bra was like when you come out with only one sock on they probably wiped their ass with it

Its front wheel drive with the first design GM catalytic converter. Could be Cadillac or Olds.
