It wouldn't be in traditional purple but you could keep an eye out for silk/satin scarves to use in the future? They are suprisingly cheap second hand! This way you can prewash the scarves so that the final product is machine washable and still as silky as the original.
I do not know if you speak Japanese, but if your name is Japanese, the correct Japanese pronunciation is Hisa•ko 🥹👍 It depends on the Kanji writing, but names like 寿子 are pronounced like so!
I need a tutorial video on how you made your own one! This would make putting my self made Katsura on a lot better. XD I need measurements and stuff! Please make a tutorial video.
Absolutely! ^_^ They were pretty easy to make, just needed to get the correct measurements. :) And yes, they definitely help with the katsura fitting a bit better! :)
@@TheColoradoGeisha Konbanwa, Yuki-san! 🙇♀️😁 and yes, I finally found out what it was called. :D It's a faux suede ribbon! I got mine from Michaels, but I'm sure it can be found at most craft stores or online! 😋
@@Firefly_Fly_Love I am not Japanese (my origins are rooted in mostly Polish, Irish, and German). And henshin is absolutely ethical for all people to participate in as a way to experience and enjoy Japanese culture! Henshin is not the same as being a geisha; henshin is the art of learning and participating in traditional Japanese costume (such as geisha, oiran, kabuki, etc). I also enjoy using henshin as a way to learn other traditional Japanese arts such as Nihon buyo (Japanese traditional dance), chadou (tea ceremony), and hopefully shamisen soon. :) Of course, there is a right way and a wrong way to execute henshin properly. But so long as you are accurate and respectful, then it's ok. :) 'Cultural appropriation' and 'cultural appreciation' are often used interchangeably and incorrectly in western culture (primarily the US). Henshin is cultural appreciation (when done correctly). This is a topic I like that comes up because it's an opportunity to educate on henshin and what it is in regards to cultural appreciation. I have an earlier video on this topic on my channel for more information. :)
@ oh wow! Thank you so much for sharing this information. I will be sure to check out the videos. I really appreciate your openness to educate. Thank you!😊
@ You're very welcome, glad I could share with you. 🙇♀️😁 It's a common topic that gets brought up with what I do so I always make sure to share with others the information since henshin is not widely known so I hope to make it more well known! :)

@@ValariaJet that's actually a really good idea and a good way to repurpose stuff! I'll have to try that! ❤️😋

I am so excited!! Would love to learn!! I have issues with normal wig caps !! Arigato gozimasu!!
@ I know what you mean, regular wig caps don't work so well with katsura in my experience! 😅
Konbowa H-san can you put the name of the white "felt" you used on the front of your home made habitue? Arigato gozimasu!!

Just curious, are you half Japanese? And is it ethical and culturally appropriate for non-Japanese people, to “play” or become geisha?
