- You asked for it! So here it is. The Top ball of the year in the Black Widow 2.0 Hybrid and the Dark Night! Both balls hook a ton but these Dark Night is definitely a hair more overall ball!

The first Black Widow was released 17 years ago... and the only one I've thrown is the Pink Urethane, which I don't really count because it reacts nothing like any other BW. Crazy how many balls I've thrown in that time, and never one of the most popular balls on the planet.
You're not the only one, I've never owned any Black Widow despite the fact that they seem to fit my game very well

I just recently found your channel and love seeing what my BW 2.0 Hybrid is capable of in more skilled hands than my own. I love the fact that you are just too chill to be excited about strikes. I just drilled a Black Widow XR pearl overseas ball like an hour ago. I'm so pumped to throw it tomorrow night.
charles I really think the pullovers are clean asl, but to set it off if you can bowl in it would be if you add the thumb holecut out or designed a special variation that the regular athletic jacket would have minus the part the partially covers the palm

I absolutely suck with my Black Widow 2.0 Hybrid. Changing to Purple Hammer Urethane
Picked up a 2.0 hybrid last Thursday and I have yet to bowl below 230 with it. I bowl 3 leagues a week. It’s an absolutely disgusting ball.

I have a widow 2.0 Hybrid... Out of box.. this ball was abeast... 6 months later... its DOA on ANY PATTERN or OIL VOLUME. The only time the Widow 2.0 Hybrid actually hooks... is on a DRY LANE. I have moved on from the widow 2.0 Hybrid which is a trash ball for anyone looking to get LONGEVITY out of the ball.
Things I have done to Fix the Hybrid 2.0 before I threw it out:
1. Detoxed the ball...
2. Resurfaced the ball after every 6th game... 500 - 1000 - 1500 TruCut
3. Reapplied Brunswick Crown Compound after every 6th game
Now the ball just never picks up... It became my spare ball until I got a plastic ball and threw the widow 2.0 Hybrid in the dumpster. Its a horrible coverstock. It dies after just 6 months. My pro shop has a lot of pissed people bringing in this ball saying its DOA after just a few short months. Pretty ridiculous if you ask me.
This is why the Dark Night works better... Its not been used heavily. Your widow 2.0 has.
The Black Widow 2.0 Hybrid was made for the fresh... and friction on the back.end. If the lane you threw this on was fresh like you said in the video... Then you have a DOA ball. Grats.
I guess ive been lucky been playing mine since the day it came out and aside from some minor scratches and bumps (crappy lane maintenance/machines) mine still a hook machine compared to other newer balls of mine that have died despite my efforts to bring them back. I am a two hander if that matters? But in any case my 2.0 has outlived a bunch of my other gear. Interesting to hear others not being so lucky. Any idea why this might be?

First my 2.0 has about 20 or less games on it because it’s primarily gets used for videos not during league or much tournaments play.
Most coverstocks loss reaction especially if your throwing them consistently.
Cover maintenance is crucial but I do agree there are not many balls that last for ever like they used to when they were made out of rubber.
Why do you think the PBA has a truck outside of each national event. So they players can continuously drill fresh covers.
But if you had bad experience that’s real life. I have several balls from all companies that died.
My 2.0 Hybrid has less than 30 games on it. @@TheHype-Bowling and its dead. In comparison My Exotic Gem with Racta Gloss has NEVER died. Its performance is as good as Day 1 out of box and has double the games on it. Brunswick is making garbage bowling balls for some reason... and it use to be my favorite company. All the hammers have died within 30 games... with PRO LEVEL CARE for each. There is no explanation for this... and its happening faster and faster. You can detox the ball.. resurface the ball... re-apply the proper compound... and the ball is still dead. Just tumbles and skids forever... even on dry.. or short patterns... it just never tears off the spot like it did in the first week of use. That is a manufacturer issue and its not my opinion.. its a provable fact. I would like an answer from the manufacturer for this issue.
My Ghost still hooks for days and I’ve had that ball forever.

You could of got a bad batch. But I would reach out and send an email to see about what you’ve been experiencing. I know tons of people who haven’t seen that from Brunswick equipment.
Ive thrown 3 pearls (gold, pink, ghost) and 1 hybrid (black/gold. The ghost was the only pearl that didnt give me and over/under response. The black and gold was by far the best reaction for me.
