Travelled today.. the road from chithambaram to Velankanni is a disaster..60 percentage of this stretch is under construction... very horrible condition.. completely avoid for another 1 year...

Thiruvanamalai route is it safe for night travel going towards velankanni? and do we have hotels for dinner in that route?

it's a state highway. Road is safe, but no divider, so decide based on your preference. Many towns are there in between, so a hotel is not a problem, you can have it at thiruvannamalai, virudachalam, chidambaram, Karaikal...
