Thank you for this. I was able to get 4 channels with an antenna from a big box store. I found your video and in less than 10 minutes I was able to make the antenna and scan for 69 channels. Thanks again.

Wow! You don't know how I appreciate this! Works better than any store bought antennas I bought. So excited!!

Wow. Thanks Daniel, I have to admit I was very skeptical that this would work, but it does. Thanks so much!

Oh, this method is sooooooo much easier than the one using a metal Wine Cap.
    Love it, and thank you!

How nice to hear from you. My Husband just now finished making your antenna. It only took about 10 minutes to complete, which he didn't mind at all!
I need to transfer all my analog VHS home movies to DVD so I am using two vcrs for my purposes. What makes it hard is that my Cable Co won't allow a 2nd VCR in the loop, so using my HD Cable is out of the question. All a VCR need is analog signal.
I am going to try Over the air to get the signal into, and through the VCR, then through the rest of the loop. All I need to show up is channel 3 or 4. Can you offer any advice or tips?
      Thanks!

Momzilla, if your using your VCR as the tuner it may not work because the over the air broadcast is mostly digital and requires a digital tuner to receive channels. All newer TVs have a digital tuner built in. If your VCR has a digital tuner built in then it will work. If it is only an analog tuner it won’t really work. Best of luck!

@@HowTosandReviewswithDan I do have a digital to analog converter I could throw in, but I don't think this antenna is going to cut through all the metal framing in the building. I just tested the antenna on the little TV, Ant In, right beside the big TV while it is connected everywhere it should be, and I couldn't pick up enough signal to broadcast anything on the little TV.
I even tried to tune the antenna by rubbing the bare copper end over the proper cable connectors tip. It didn't help.
I know there are Capture devices, but I hate all the computer files and hard drive demands. Gee, the old days were easy! LOL

how short of a coax cable can i use? I think the short the less single lost their would be. i working on getting a converter box with dvr for a 32 inch computer display.

A quarter wave antenna might be what you want. Find the frequency of the station and make the antenna for the frequency in your area if you are having issues.

Is that coaxial cable he is stripping to plug into the tv? If its not what kind of cable is it?

  • @frankside1203

It would probably work better in a strong signal area

Frank Symes I am about 11miles as the bird flies from the transmitters in my area. You might want to look up Yagi antennas.

My room is actually about in the middle of the house, I have a window on the back wall but the TV is at the front of the room, with the back towards the living room. Does the length of cable make a difference? Or do I only need as much as you used?

    • @HowTosandReviewswithDan
      @HowTosandReviewswithDan  ปีที่แล้ว +1

The length can cause a little loss if you go to far but you only need 6 inches of bare wore

Didn’t work for my tv. It’s an older tv

    •  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

if its old you need a dvb t2 converter box since now all channels are digital. old tvs only catch analog signal. plug that antenna to the converter box and then plug the box to the tv

    • @HowTosandReviewswithDan

You may have interference that is causing the antenna not to receive the frequency. Believe it or not tv’s, refrigerators, and many appliances can produce interference. Also if you have a metal roof or walls it could be blocking the signals. I have a metal roof so this particular antenna works best toward the exterior walls of my home. The last thing is if you live in a rural area there may not be that many channels available and you may want to use a high gain tv antenna to try to receive more. I didn’t know as much as I do now when I created this video but I recently became an a licensed amateur radio operator and have a better understanding of antennas. I plan on making another video soon that explains more. Thanks for watching my videos!

I have a metal building as a shop. Is there a way to use the building itself, as an antenna?
Or would that create other issues ? Such being a big lightning rod.

It was just to save time on the video. Everyone’s channel numbers will vary depending on your location to the local television stations towers in your area.
