Picked up my Explorer 40 from the AD this week. Very comfortable daily wearable watch. Understated elegance which it’s important to me as I travel for work a lot.
I got mine last June.... Love it and getting the same accuracy!!! Then I got the call a month ago from my AD for the Sprite Jubilee I'd been on the wait list for 2.5 years..... This is running about the same. Amazing accuracy.
@@SnapshotTechTips I think Explorer 36 is a beauty and an all time classic. Explorer 40, larger dial, easier to read, becoming essential n practical as I get older 😅
My favorite 2024 is the Prospex Limited Edition 1965 Recreation European Exclusive in Gradation Island Blue. The dial is stunning and the contrast when on a white strap is to die for. I will get my hands on one from AMZWATCH
I agree it’s more dressy than the tool watch image. Very comfortable and low key to wear. I got the 40mm a couple months ago from my AD and only waited 2 weeks. No games and no prior history but I had an AD contact. However a Sub is taking me longer - 3 months and still waiting.
@RantAboutTimeChannel yes, I've been very active with it on. Sleep with it on as well. and was losing 2s a day most days. it sat in the box for the last 24 hours, and was perfect. very weird.
@@poolmonkey I put my name down in July 2021. Patiently waited for a call (and in between I did not play games, or bought any watches from them or contacted them). I did nothing to jump the queue. Only got an email in April to update my contact details, then another email in late to inform a viewing of an available Explorer 36mm. That’s the whole story, true story!
I walked in to an AD in Macau two weeks ago while on holiday there, and walked out with a brand new Explorer 1 40mm. No BS or waiting games. I was expecting this of ADs in lower footfall cities only because the market for luxury watches/Rolex is slowing. I expect in the West this will happening for the lower cost Rolex timepieces. I would go to a few ADs local to you. Expect to wait 3 months for this watch, even though one of them will have it in stock...
Yep it scratches easily but that's no reason to get an EX2 over this IMO. Both are bullet proof watches that are fully serviceable for life in the grand scheme of things.
@@whereRbearsTeeth I get you. Vintage look is good. On the other hand, having calibre 3230, i am much more comfortable handling all these modern electronics like iPhone, iPad or laptops with their speakers or charging features..
Arg Rolex are so boring! No wonder the luxury watch market is dropping in value the way it is.if they keep making watches like this, they are going to run into a problem.
Haha, what a dumb comment. They’ve been making this watch since 1953 and I don’t think they have “run into a problem” yet. People are waiting in line to buy them.

I've just bought an Explorer in the UK. I had to wait three days for delivery!
@@Rover2430 that’s quick! I think it is coming back to the norm now.
Yeah, the hype is over thankfully.
Wow that is quick, do you kind telling who the AD was?

If you bought your Explorer at a Rolex dealer, did you have to play any games to get your watch, or did you have wait on a list?
