- Finally got the Honda S2000 CR smogged and registered in California. Took her to Mid-Valley Auto (7554 Winnetka Ave. Winnetka, CA 91306) were Tony Fuchs is a S2000 expert. He found some issues and got them fixed. Here is everything he did to make her run like new:
1.) Change engine oil & filter - top off coolant bottle
2.) Change trans & diff fluids
3.) Flush brake & clutch fluids
4.) Replace driver's side engine mount
5.) Replace serpentine belt
6.) Replace front brake pads - replace front rotors
7.) Adjust valves - replace valve cover gasket set - replace spark plugs
Tony is the only person I’ll let work on my s2000! Took it to him 3 years ago and haven’t had to go back since. Goes to show how reliable AND low maintenance these cars are. Awesome CR!
Yeah he was great. One thing I might change is the TCT - if I do I’ll go back to Tony!
Got the TCT changed to a Billman TCT and got it installed by Formula S since I was picking up some parts.

Good call on getting the valves inspected. Valves on the 06+ DBW seem to tighten much faster than the service manual recommends. Billman on S2KI suggests intervals of 50k. With all of the maintenance out of the way, go and enjoy her!

@@canyonrun2565 Yes! I love the sound of the engine and I love how easy it is to control when cornering (I'm talking about a stock s2000 CR)

Good work with the inspection. Did say if the Exhaust Valve were tight? Also, is that a 981 Cayman? What year? How do you like is vs the S2000 CR?

Thank you for watching the videos! The rust spot wasn't that bad, I got some "Rust Remover" and put some on a cotton swab to clean it up. The detailer is also going to stand down that spot and layer up some touch up paint on it. Will make a video of how it all comes out!
I'd really like to take my S2000 there. What did it cost you overall? I believe mine needs about the same sort of maintenance
A little over $1K for all the parts and labor. Tell him the blue CR he just worked on sent you!
After he flushed the clutch fluid, replaced the engine mount, the shifts are really smooth now especially from 1-2!
@@canyonrun2565 Thanks for the quick reply! Mine is a tad clunky on the 1-2 shifts as well, I may have the same issue. Good to know.
@@lambosteve1000 before seeing him I would blip the throttle when shifting to 2nd from first if I wanted to shift below 15mph. No longer have to do that.
BAT is a BIG hike but you did well.
Yeah, it was just another bidder at the end - if he didn't bid up, could of gotten it for almost 10K less! BAT is too popular, seen other S2000s sell less on the less popular bidding sites.
careful! HKSs will probably be bumpier than your stock suspension!
