I think this book is full of judgemental insights. About Good and Bad behaviour. David Richo is in my opinion not aware of the fact that practicing adulthood is not authentic. It could have been a good book if it was written with the intention to remind us of our inner adult we already are. The self is the adult. The self is underneath our protective parts we work with every day to protect us from exposure of shame and guilt. These are not bad parts.
It is not something we have to get rid of or practice to become adults and suppress these parts that we ourselves gave the task to protect our inner wisdom and adulthood. We have to connect and take care of these parts in a loving way so we can become whole again. Like the father, the son, and the holy spirit becoming one.

Given a life time of being abused_ just accept let go_ the world is a toilet bowl_ grow up life is a toilet bowl of shite _ enjoy yourself plug your nose_ the soap _ OMG _ all that soap that goes to waste on abusers.
