An Object Lesson on The Holy Spirit

👩‍🔬Bethy offers an object lesson for kids about how the Holy Spirit fills us when we accept Jesus as our Savior, from 1 Corinthians 6:19. Even when we don't FEEL like God is with us, He is! We can trust the Bible, it is much more reliable then our feelings, Jeremiah 17:9.

4) What does the Holy Spirit do to help you in your life?
5) If you don't feel like you have the Holy Spirit living in you, but you know that you have trusted in Jesus for salvation, what should you do?
6) Can we trust our feelings? Why not?
7) What is more reliable, our own feelings? or the Bible?

The Science Experiment:
Here are the instructions for the experiment so you can reproduce this lesson for your kids.
Materials:
-Balloon
-Small mouthed bottle (cleaned glass beverage bottle will work well)
-Small funnel
-Baking soda (2 tablespoons)
-Vinegar (4 ounces)
Directions:
-Using the funnel, add the baking soda to the balloon
-Pour the vinegar into the bottle.
-Carefully fit the balloon over the bottle opening (be careful not to drop the baking soda into the vinegar yet).
-Once the balloon is fitted snugly on the nozzle, hold up the balloon and allow the baking soda to fall into the vinegar.
