Robert "The Hoot" Gibson was one of only 5 contestants who decided to roll the dice for the Million Dollar Question, but was 1 of 3 contestants who flunked out with 25 grand. Of course, only 2 were millionaires, Kathy Cox, and Professor George Fitzgerald Smoot III.
Actually, 6 contestants went for the $1,000,000 question. 5 in the original, 1 in the 2015 version. 4 of the 6 contestants decided to go for it. 4 of them lost $475,000 & won $25,000. 2 of them won $1,000,000. Here's the video of the 1 from 2015. th-cam.com/video/J0frztgZiAc/w-d-xo.html
Who cares everyone else did good and tried their best on here but no Jeff just has to insult them saying that they aren’t smart rude! At least the celebrities tried not to mention that half of them were really smart enough not to cheat anyway
I KNEW ROBERT LOST ON THE $1,000,000 QUESTION BECAUSE I ONLY FOUND THAT OUT ON THE SEASON 3 FINALE. WHEN I WATCHED THIS FOR THE 1st TIME I DIDN'T KNOW THAT HE USED NONE OF HIS CHEATS. WHEN I SAW THE SUBJECT OF THE $1,000,000 I SAID THIS. WAIT A MINUTE!!!!! DOES HE REALLY NOT KNOW HIS MATH?!!!!! THEN WHEN I SAW THE $1,000,000 QUESTION I WAS SHOCKED!!!!! I CAN'T BELIEVE HE GOT IT WRONG!!!!! I KNEW THE ANSWER RIGHT AWAY WHEN I SAW THE $1,000,000 QUESTION!!!!!
These phony hesitations that the host do (e.g., the late Regis Philbin on Millionaire) are sooo annoying! Get to the answer and stop building up the drama!!!
This is painful. I really wanted him to win and he was so solid throughout. It’s funny though, I thought it was a very easy Million Dollar Question.
much easier than the typical world history question.
It is easy to understand but its also easy to forget that 1 is a common factor of every number.

How many Common Factors Do The numbers 28 and 32 have? They're 3 of them 1,2 and 4.
I think there was another show where they didn't consider 1 a factor. If I watch it again I'll come back.
I remember watching this on TV back in 2009 when I was in 5th Grade, and I knew Robert's million dollar question.
I am amazed that Robert Hoot Lee Gibson answered 10 questions correctly without using any cheats. He should have walked away though.

Morse Code was named after the man who developed it in the 1830s. What was Mr.More's first name? Samuel
This was quite sad and bit tricky question since often 1 is just ignored as factor. I'm sure he would have realized it if he didn't answer so quickly.
or if it hadn't been 30 years since he had a math class
