I have both the Akribis and the occidental and I really like both. The nice thing about the Akribis is if you bought the fastener bag to small or big like yourself, you can unscrew the bags on the outside of the speedsquare holster so you don't have to buy an entire new set of fastener bags.
Great review Jack. Good comparison and valid critiques. I would be curios to have your thoughts on our mid size rigs as you’ve got our most monstrous/heaviest set..😂👊 thx for the support.🙏
I bought a Occidental leather a few years ago and it´s still in the cabinet.I had never seen one of this in first person before(so unusual to see it here in Spain)so when I see it for the first time I felt surprised and a bit upset about how big the pouches are.Don´t call it toolbelt anymore, call it Samsonite system. After that,I decided to try the Diamond back´s Chopo system and I am very happy I spend so many hours per day up on the scaffold and it gives me the quickness I need.Very well thought, top quality nylon, many spots and slots to keep my tools. It is very close to be the perfect toolbelt for me.
Also for future videos i would love to see topics that aren't spoken about much like how to look after your body in a physical trade, how to make other trades lives easier, how to find cash jobs if you don't run your own business. Also some carpentry protips & a hammer roundup would be sweet!
Nice line up of Christmas trees dude, first I’ve seen with all the top brands in the review. Would love to see detailed footage of the pouches themselves, you were close with them all laid out and you ran the camera down the line up, if you could slow that down and talk about what each pouch carries, could carry or is designed to carry would be awesome! If you have a chance to do a follow up I’ll be watching it 👍✊🏼💪🏼
I have a akribis tool belt and I ordered the same setup on the right side I ended up cutting the bottom pocket off as it got hung up alot I have the suspenders for mine and love the setup but I agree its very heavy but it's comfortable, I'm currently looking into getting a Denali 2.0....cheers and your review was great bud 🤙👊
It’s nice to see a video like this where blue collapse language is used. I’m thinking about Arkibis, for 8 years I’ve carried my hammer on my back, I want my hammer loop to last as long as possible. I have the fat lips by Occidental. I recently watched a dude slip, fall backwards and claws to his hammer embedded in his back. Needless to say; new gear unlocked. I’m thinking about Arkibis, I like how whereveru put your hammer, u can’t trip over it and the claws and head are away from ur body. U got my sub bro thank u.
Finally a video comparing all the top brands!!! Thanks brother!!! Owned all but the one I’m most happy with is a brand called Badgertoolbelt. All bags are great nonetheless. Love from Hawaii🤙
Your my favorite youtuber frame ol’ jack. I got inspired to quit siding and start framing, im 25 now. Might be able to have my own crew at 30 hopefully. Keep makin videos bro👏
For anybody wanting to make it easier to use the shorter rings for the hammer that are made into the bag use a piece of pvc pipe that is the same size as the opening. It will keep the ring open and give it structure and also no metal clanking
I like the buckaroo bags! Never seen a pouch with so many pockets I'm an organization nut when it comes to the pockets on my tool belt, don't electrical, need a bunch of separate pockets for when we're making up the switches and outlets. Was looking for it, only saw the 4 bag on their website Been considering some akribis myself but you sold me on the buckaroos If you can help me find that pouch, be much appreciated
hey jack you go on about how comfy the oxy adjusts to fits are in the vid, how does the comfort level compare to the Badgers? I've got the diamondback denial at the moment but find it to heavy and uncomfortable, trying to figure out whether the oxxy adjusts to fit or the Badgers are are going to be more comfy, would probs go the trim model of either one
I had the Denali 2.0 and hated them because I can’t just throw my nails in them and the right bag had too many pockets when I only carry 4 tools on my right. I’m also between occidental and badger
Have two sets of occidental bags. A 7 bag framer set and another set of bags on my climbing harness. Id be scared to run fabric bags as im in bridge construction. No nail guns on our jobs. Lol. Run a straight handle martinez M1. After 50 pounds of 16 pennie double heads the curved handles tear my hand up.
I am starting the Electrical trade at 30. I am Canadian and want Akribis but worried about the weight. I will start hurting before a 20-year-old. Can you really tell the difference from diamondback?
Yeh there’s a fair bit of day light between the 2 as far as weight goes, diamondback are more modular aswell, can build it out with sax and add ons that you can take on an off pretty quickly
I, like yourself do not like suspenders. I had the 4" diamonback belt but found it really uncomfortable. I'm guessing if your saying the denali is your favourite i should perhaps try the 6" belt?
Quick question. Akribis or occidental? I'm getting rid of my DB chopo rig and I'm looking at buying either a set of occidental leather/nylon fatlip or the equivalent from Akribis and I'd like to hear your thoughts. Right now I'm doing a lot of concrete forming/ rebar tying, but I do everthing from framing and concrete to drywall and trim carpentry.
Any thoughts on the Dead On Tools bags? I have a $130 Irwin as my first nail bag but the Dead On ones are a similar price and may be an upgrade when my Irwin one shits itself.
Occidental 7 bag framers until the day I die and I’ll never change it. The only difference is I use the left handed bags on my left lids and the right handed bags on my right side.
I wore the Occidental ultra light adjust to fit nylon framer for like a decade. It's a little smaller than the one shown but still has ample draw pockets for fasteners. Been trying other brands but I'd be just as happy with a new version of my old bags!
"The perfect tool belt is kind of a myth. They've all got something a little bit fucked up." Best quote
True. The job determines what's the best set up.
Did he say that in this video lol
Best nail bag review on TH-cam.
Who else is comparing all the main brands
I have both the Akribis and the occidental and I really like both. The nice thing about the Akribis is if you bought the fastener bag to small or big like yourself, you can unscrew the bags on the outside of the speedsquare holster so you don't have to buy an entire new set of fastener bags.

I got the Akribis B-Mini with suspenders about 6 months ago and love em
hi mate, how heavy it is? i never had a front worn belt, is it comfy/handy? cheers

i dont see why not!
Finally a top tool belt review, thanks mate.
Easy mate!

I bought the akribis mini today. cannot wait. $1000 will last me 10 years forever
Finally a video comparing all the top brands!!! Thanks brother!!! Owned all but the one I’m most happy with is a brand called Badgertoolbelt. All bags are great nonetheless. Love from Hawaii🤙
Matte! I’m so keen for him to get more stock made, I’ll be on em for sure!
If I can save you watching a ten minute video for a 3 second answer 😂 ... Love it ... Thumbs up
Haha we’re busy people mate! Gotta be efficient
There’s like a buzzing in the background? Anyway I messed up my hips so I prefer suspenders
Your my favorite youtuber frame ol’ jack. I got inspired to quit siding and start framing, im 25 now. Might be able to have my own crew at 30 hopefully. Keep makin videos bro👏
haha cheers mate, appreciate it!
great reviews, I am New Zealand, and I have diamondback vest, love it, and the best tools belt( actually it is a vest) so far
Loving the videos mate, what ever they consist of it’s always good to watch
Cheers mate!
Truck tour, Australia seems to have lots of custom boxes. We don't see that in the uk
Ive custom made mine by putting a few together
Diamondback OX on the left
Martinez on the right
Badger for the belt
Unbeatable
that quite the set up!
great video!, I would like to ask you, for starters, which tool belt should I buy?, I thought of Buckaroo, how was this belt for you?
For anybody wanting to make it easier to use the shorter rings for the hammer that are made into the bag use a piece of pvc pipe that is the same size as the opening. It will keep the ring open and give it structure and also no metal clanking
Totally agree mate, Occidental superb comfort just a little big
I like the buckaroo bags! Never seen a pouch with so many pockets

Points to akribis tool belt it is heavy but it sit very well with suspenders
Had those same occidentals they only lasted 3 will quite a few things breaking on them.
Love that. Greetings from Port Vila Vanuatu
Best review literally just how I would do a review like this I need a beer with this guy lol

Badgers are lighter and more comfortable then diamondback
Great video mate, heaps of help! Cheers!
What is that high pitched whine in the sound?
I think it was electrical interference - possibly from the garage lighting.... or ???
Don't be shy, you're an enthusiast!
Would love to see more about AKRIBIS.!!!
You should be able to remove the akribis bags on your left that stick out
What about Buckaroo
Have two sets of occidental bags. A 7 bag framer set and another set of bags on my climbing harness. Id be scared to run fabric bags as im in bridge construction. No nail guns on our jobs. Lol. Run a straight handle martinez M1. After 50 pounds of 16 pennie double heads the curved handles tear my hand up.
Any chance you can do a review on the grande ox and mule system?
I am starting the Electrical trade at 30. I am Canadian and want Akribis but worried about the weight. I will start hurting before a 20-year-old. Can you really tell the difference from diamondback?

I’ve got the same problem Glen, was just watching this thinking I’ll grab the 6inch then but probably wait till he stocks the flux pouch
flux's is early next week! haha its amazing what a diffrence 2 inches can make haha
Can you do a review on the Martinez speed square. Not sure if I want to spend the money 🧐
Sure!
Great comparison review! thanks
Akribis is number #1
Take a look at viking leather in canada. Make some pretty nice gear
I will straight up buy those buckaroo bags if you will sell them to me
I would be very happy with any of those but I am very poor.😢
Good honest video!
Love these vids man!!!!
cheers mate!
“Nice haircut” - nobody
You should try Atlas 46 belt

Right now I'm doing a lot of concrete forming/ rebar tying, but I do everthing from framing and concrete to drywall and trim carpentry.
Tool Belts are like Trucks-vans-trailers- just can't get the perfect set up, every one excels at their own strengths.
Any thoughts on the Dead On Tools bags? I have a $130 Irwin as my first nail bag but the Dead On ones are a similar price and may be an upgrade when my Irwin one shits itself.
Never worn one and only seen a set in person once, not really enough to rate or hate em sorry mate!
Occidental 7 bag framers until the day I die and I’ll never change it. The only difference is I use the left handed bags on my left lids and the right handed bags on my right side.
Good video Jack. Ps your audio is in mono
Cheers mate! i think i fixed it on the new one!
@@Jack_martin yeah no worries. I had to
Get special cable for that mic. Some SC7 TRS to TTRS I think.
@@BarrrAmundi mint, tomorrow’s job is to figure out why it’s mono, I used GoPro audio for today’s 😂
Great video and review topic
Cheers mate!
Love the vids mate
Cheers mate!
Denali for the win always
Up It!
👍🏻
No Badger or TRU...rookie
The best diamond bag light weight....nylon....leather are too heavy plus your tools...your back really hurt
if 2 pounds difference is all it takes....
Are you having a hard time breathing mate ? Sounds like you have trouble speaking brotha
I wore the Occidental ultra light adjust to fit nylon framer for like a decade. It's a little smaller than the one shown but still has ample draw pockets for fasteners. Been trying other brands but I'd be just as happy with a new version of my old bags!
Oxy are hard to beat!
