    I've heard that if you turn off the air assist while engraving you can skip the sanding step. But I haven't tried it yet.

      @@photoguy42 Not exactly true. I never have my air assist on when engraving. The main reason is to prevent the beam from ‘blowing out of focus.’ Residue is a result of various factors such as material, settings, ventilation, etc. However, I always prefer to sand to give the products a nice, smooth finish 😊

      @@MiMoDesignLaserfiles I think the main idea is to not blow the residue down onto the material. But turning it off can also result in it messing with the lens, etc. If you can adjust the air assist, that might help.

      @@ulaB That’s a good point! I actually can’t adjust my airflow, which is why I always keep it off during engraving to prevent the beam from scattering and losing focus on fine details. This approach helps me achieve cleaner results without much residue issues. But you’re absolutely right; managing residue is key to keeping the lens clean and ensuring clarity. Thanks for sharing your insight-it’s definitely a balance that might vary depending on the project and setup!
