.."my 8 year old pool" .."the 5th liner I've done.... Jeff,Great vid. Jeff,am I to assume that this very pool is on its 5th liner in 8 years? If true, why so many and what should we be looking for in a good liner. You must have learned a lot about liners and this 5th one,in theory, is the best til now .😎
its my second liner in that pool. I've done a few others for friends. Pool liner usually last 7 to 12 years. don't go with a thick liner like 40mil I like the 20 mil liners that stretch in a little better.
What size is the pool? We had our liner replaced after 15 years.. The guy did it all by himself. I had to come to an agreement on reimbursement for water, because after filling the pool up about 3/4 there was a wrinkle. So he had to drain water to be able to move the liner to get the wrinkle out. All worked out Okay.
great job! Did you replace the gasket material under the stair trip or just use the old ones? I bought a roll of new gasket material and don't know if I should replace it because it's bonded so well to the steps. Thanks in advance!
Your work is very inspiring! I’m in the process of having our vinyl liner replaced. I haven’t contacted anybody yet regarding prices but your video just made me think twice regarding DIYing! Which website did you used to measure and order you liner? How long did it take you to fill up you pool? Great work, sir!
I'm getting quoted 7 and 8k for a liner replacement on a rectangle pool in NJ...Its nuts. I could buy 4 liners for that price. Anyone else getting high quotes?
Ask any friends with pools if thay have replaced there liners. Just find a long weekend and get some help hanging the liner. Just order it in the winter the prices go up as it gets warmer.
Amazing job!
That's impressive! 👍
Fantastic job, nothing better than doing it yourself 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
Great video! Thanks! It gives me the confidence to perhaps replace my own liner when the time comes and save some money!
order the liner in winter its much cheeper than spring. Just make sure its above 70' F and just take your tine and get help when hanging the liner.

Thanks for the reply. 👍 You make it look easy.
Great job! Trying to decide whether or not to get a pool with a liner.
there is a big price difference between the three you can do.
Thank you so much! Great step-by-step video. I couldn't afford the $3,000 our local pool guy wanted to replace our liner.
its 5k in my area
only 3K, wow, I would take that deal in a heartbeat
I just got a quote for 8k to replace mine. I will be embarking on my own as well!
Great job!
1:16 buy a chunk of coping track for over the step. Then you can adjust liner if needed. It will also keep liner from sagging
Great work
great job !
thanks
I'm exhausted from watching

Just take your time and get some help from friends
can I glue the old vinyl liner to grout floor after patching grout floor?
I don't think it will last very long if it dose hold.
Does it matter the size of the shop vac? Or should I order a “liner vacuum”?
or just use 2 shop vac's.
To seal at the steps, is there gasket material between the step and liner or is the liner right up against your step, then the gasket material?
1) pool steps, liner, gasket then plastic strip.
4:35 good job marking both ends with direction. It would be horrible if you got half way down and got the bottom backwards
true. go slow and take your time.
Thank you!!

The swimming pool liner cost about $4,000 and the installation professionally done is definitely worth $4,000
I just pay 7500 in Florida they did it in 2 days but not even 2 full days
15k to replace liner and patch pool floor
Just got a liner for 1500 bucks... did the floor myself for less than 400
Excellent video! How did you get the staining off of your steps? You repaint them or scrub them before filling with water?
Just have to get the PH right and most all of it goes away.
the samples to your local pool store.
Where did you buy your liner and what thickness is it? I want to do this
20mil liner its a hydra liner.
@@jeffferritto what measurements did you get for your pool. I need to replace mine. It looks just like mine.
Each pool is different. you have to Enter all the measurements in their website
Is there any sealant required for the stairs or any of the other penetration trims?
Stairs no. I used silicone on the skimmer.

$1400, that was the winter price. it can double in the spring/summer.
