Vox AC30VR with a pair of 1966 Vox Gold Bulldog 12” speakers

Vox Gold Bulldogs were made in Chicago by Oxford for the Super Beatle Buckingham cabs and Viscount combos of the mid-sixties. Those amps were solid state and used by the Beatles themselves in concerts throughout the USA. Using a pair of these in a Vox hybrid amp seemed like a good match so I installed them. I feel they have improved the tone of this versatile amp. VR stands for “Valve Reactor” and this amp has a 12ax7b as a gateway from the preamp to the power amp.

nice... speakers make it sound more true ac30. I have a c2 and the vr and they don't sound enough like each other to use for stereo recording, thought they compliment each other. I wonder if i changed my vr speakers I would get some better results. Cheers

Probably best to sell the vr and get a second c2? I'm sure you are getting good results as is though.
