The first video I watched, I was quite annoyed at how someone 6 years younger than me was so much wiser.
I have now watched all of your videos and my ideas have been challenged and changed, thank you.

I love this perspective. Reading more of Nietzsche as of late has had me questioning where my own sense of pride comes from, and where to redirect it!

Really liked the video, a breath of fresh air after what "self improvement" became. We are nowadays so focused on the self that we forget we should improve to be capable as a means to serve and not to mog or some dumb shit lol

Love your thoughts on that topic Brother!
I have also thought about pride and how it sometimes affects my life negatively. Although I haven’t thought through why it does as thoroughly as you did.
You should listen to Kendrick Lamar’s pride on damn which also handles this topic.
Keep going and do your thing :)

    2:47 here's my take:
There are many people out there who feel insecure about those aspects of themselves. The point of celebrating these unchangeable aspects is to help people have better confidence when traversing life.
E.g. If you suffer from lots of racism, having an event that let's you know that there's nothing wrong with your skin color, can help you feel less bad for having a different skin color compared to other people in your area

I don’t think minority pride (ex: queer pride, Black pride) is necessarily the same thing as the video is describing, and that it is misleading and damning to think so. Sure, they are named “pride” but they provide safe spaces to celebrate a part of people’s identity that is often demonized and discouraged: it can let oppressed individuals reclaim their identity and become confident in it, not just prideful. I do think people who use minority status as a status symbol and to truly be prideful are misguided (example: lgbt pride merch), but from what I have seem, the lgbt community’s general consensus is that they too do not like corporates who only pander to the pride … what really matters in these spaces is the acceptance and celebration, and those things are valuable.

7:40 it's not that simple. sports players are _very_ superstitious.
E.g. In the NHL, guys won't shave their beards if when they make it to the playoffs because they think it'll make them better players.
It could also be the baader-meinhof phenomenon. Since you're a Christian, you're more likely to take note of the victory speeches where anything Christian is mentioned
