It's tons of little things, like the fact that you can click and drag the colored heights tabs, that I didn't know! Great to see your workflow. Excellent vid, doing a wrapped engraving on my lathe soon, can't wait.
Alright sir, added that to my list of video ideas! I'm actually working on creating an advanced video and designing a part for it right now, so I might just push out a video on how to create the geometry first. There are actually a few different ways to go about creating the geometry. The spiral for example is a sweep. Here's a screenshot of the sweeping operation: i.imgur.com/BOhoqAk.png
Ah haha I JUST uploaded the video actually. I think there's enough information in the video to figure out text though! Give it a look and if not I can create a quick screencast of it for you. Here's a link to the video: th-cam.com/video/0B88jJ1CG3w/w-d-xo.html
Thank you Luciano for this great vid , my question is what if that "spiral groove " is open in both sides how can i made the tool approach the stock from outside rather then helical entry . THANK YOU
I actually just posted this tip to my instagram! Here's a link, I'll probably release a quick tip video on this in the coming week. Here's a link to that video: instagram.com/p/BPrYHKBhxpW/
To do that, you'll want to add a sketch point outside the L feature, and under linking, set ramp to be predrill or plunge, and choose the sketch point as the predrill location. Here's a screenshot of what that would look like: i.imgur.com/FyCZSbp.png I'm working on an advanced video currently, I'll add this to my topic list. Thanks for the suggestion!
Mike Mattera created a thorough beginner video with how to do the setup. For the sake of video length, I wanted to focus solely on more in depth information and methods. I'd be happy to do a beginner tutorial as well though! I have an advanced video planned out already too. Let me know if you think a beginner video would be useful as well!
the problem is not everyone will read the blog post I never do myself most of the time you don't know they are there ever, it needs to be on the fusion youtube page as well
I'm working on getting my videos posted over to their page also! But great point about the blog post. I'll work on making entry level videos also. Thanks for the suggestions Daniel!

Thanks man! Glad you could pick out a few tricks from all this! Looking forward to seeing what you make on the lathe. You going to do a video on it?
My boy killin it!
Super cool! A tutorial on how you made that part would be nice.

Also the coil with a square profile will create that sweep too
