why did you guys invite people who don't know anything about japanese animation for an episode about the prononciation of japanese anime and manga x) it's such a weird decision ^^'
The german one was wrong on the one piece MC name. We call him Ruffy. And Usopp is being called Lysop. It way chosen that way since the ly is pronounced like the lü in lügen which means to lie. One Addition to the end. What the english call Umbreon we call Nachtara. Nacht in german means night and the ara is just added and doesn't mean anything.
A video about Pokémon names it's a great idea. My suggestion: bring guys from Japan, Korea, France, Germany, Mainland China and Hong Kong. In these countries the monsters have different names.
Blacky is not just the Korean name for Umbreon. It's actually the original Japanese name as well. It's called ブラッキ(Buraki) in Japanese, which is how Blacky is pronounced in Japanese since there is no L sound in Japanese. The original Japanese name was adopted in Korea for this pokemon. Koreans pronounce the name as Buleki because Koreans do have the L sound.
In Morroco and most of Arab speaking countries we were Ll introduced to Anime through "Space toon" TV channel which dubs the Anime, also changes occurs to the characters names, the Anime name and the songs remastered or dubbed in Arabic lyrics. captain Tsubasa is Captain Majed - HXH is Al Kannas. actually outside of Asia and countries close to Japan, Middle Eastern and North African countries were the first to get exposed to Anime
As a kid I would watch anime after getting home from school and before going to bed or stay up in the weekends to watch anything on Toonami or Adult Swim but the one or two things I would watch that I get excited for is Dragon Ball Z, Pokemon, and Cowboy Bebop it's what got me into anime along with Ghost in the Shell, Akira, Vampire Hunter D: Bloodlust, and Kiki's Delivery Service.
Actually France is 2nd country in the world about Manga culture. this culture is really important here. And French read and watch manga long time ago before americans or German. 😂 there is even French Manga (Radiant, Wakfu...)
@@taoist32 ok anime. but manga anime or just american anime like disney (etc)? in france the first modern manga parution was officialy in 1969 ( a few page of manga in a news paper). after that we had the anime astro le robot which was the first manga anime in something like 1973 or 72. but during the 80th and 90th the french kids litterally swim in the manga culture because manga where cheaper than french anime. we saw first dragon ball in 1993 ( not really sur about this date) ranma 1/2, the zodiak knight, catseyes, hokuto no ken, city hunter. the french versions of hokuto no ken and city hunter are known for their versions called ken le survivant and nicky larson where the voice actors adapted the text and added jokes and puns because they found it too violents for kids. :)
Also looked it up. The very first japanese anime was shown 1961 in germany it was a movie though. The first anime show was 1972. First manga was 77 also in a newspaper a few pages the very first manga was 82
lucie being clueless is not gonna lie refreshing because of how overwhelmed most people seem with media she seems to be doing her thing in life without distractions
The PD was kinda rude when he told the girl she needed a life for not watching anime. At least she knows what it feels like to touch grass instead of being glued to your tvs 24/7. Like stop judging people for what they do and don’t do tf

I mean...humor? If it's something you're surprised someone didn't know of or experience, some would jokingly think they're crazy or had a sad childhood but it's usually just jokes
Anime is everywhere in Asia as much as Disney, Marvel, DC movies are in the West. There’s no way you won’t be exposed to at least one anime in your life if you grew up or live in any of the Asian countries. Anime and KPop are that big in Asian Pop Culture it’s that mainstream. So missing out means you haven’t been updated with mainstream culture.
Is their mic working?????? Why they all sound so far away 😂
Yeahh 😂
The French and Moroccan girls in particular, I can barely hear them.
why did you guys invite people who don't know anything about japanese animation for an episode about the prononciation of japanese anime and manga x) it's such a weird decision ^^'
At 4:43 the German one for Ruffy is actually not right. Even the synchronisation is calling him like [rahfi] I don't know how to write it
Yes, the German synchro is pronouncing his name with an English R, so like the word ruff.
Came here to say this, I genuinely wish they had done this episode with actual weebs. These people are talking out their ass.
The german one was wrong on the one piece MC name.

The French girl is like “why am I here?”

Interesting to see how names change globally! 🌍📺

1990s sailor moon, Pokémon and yugioh were my favorite anime growing up.

Same here. I grew up with DBZ, Pokemon, Cowboy Bebop, Gundam Wing, Pokemon etc. I was a 90's child.
what's happening with the background noise 😅
I wanted this to be about pokémon names
No offense but why is the french girl here, she don't even watch anime 😂so what's the point of she being here
Yeah, we absolutely need more Pokémon 😆

You are saying judging people bad and then you go judge them with "touching grass". Go touch grass bro.
