Game: instead of a generic map, you can play in the real world, try survive in your neigbourhood!

That's what I did too. I started googling European castle addresses, but then learned that most of the walls aren't actual walls.

Being French, I went for the "ile de la citée" basically the original Paris, a small island in the seine river in the middle of nowadays Paris, where the Notre Dame cathedral is located.
There only are a few bridges to access it, the difficult part is to survive the start of the game, as the isle has very high building density, but once the island is secured, you can defend rather easily while having access to downtown ressources.
I originately thought the Mont Saint Michel would be an awesome start, but the game considers that it does not have enouigh buildings to be an acceptable location unfortunately.
Wich is weird, because Mont Saint Michel is rather large and has a lot of buildings. In reality it would be quite the fallback point.
Easy to defend, acces to the sea and therefore quite endless food supply.
This game tells you all you need about the real zombie threat. For them to actually be a genuine danger they would have to be able to swim and destroy walls meters thick... while swimming.
I mean, you couldn't take 8 billion people and relocate them to an impenetrable star fortress. The threat of zombies never has been annihilation, but it has always been destruction. How many billions can the zombies kill or infect before order begins to collapse, and survivors are forced to hole up in places like these?

The walls are like 4 foot thick or more, filled with rubble with tonnes and tonnes of dirt behind the walls

Exactly the kind of place I was looking for.
I found a nice base on Burlingame Island in Miami, lacking the stone walls, but it's connected to the rest of the map with the Brickell Keys and has lots of tall buildings. Check the place out, it also has a lot of place for fields. The surrounding buildings around the island are all big, giving a lot of ressources. It works out nicely so far.
Fort valley, GA, USA is a viable spot lasted about 100 days until starvation kicked instill trying to find a good balance between the Barns and fields for every cookhouse

that area is really bad, i actually lived in southie and castle island is not good...way too far from any resources....only like 4 SMALL buildings around the fort to use....the path to the sugar bowl is useless as well....lots of trees tho.

you should play more of the game,you can even encounter the military and either fight them to try and get a tank or help them and eventually get an ability to call for reinforcements every 12 days or so
(the reinforcements do include a tank which may die and you can still get the tank)
baron I had a great idea for a game. It would be a game playing as a ww2 bomber and you and your friends have to defend against enemy fighters as they try and attack you. It would be in first person and you can walk around the plane to the different turrets.
I was scratching my head watching your video saying to myself "huh this place looks very familiar" until you said Fort Monroe and it clicked that I live in Norfolk which is like 40 min away from there lol
with the zombie's ai path finding, you could technically make a tower defense game layout with the walls

There's probably a lot of auto generation involved, just inputting map data and letting the game figure it out. That was probably the tough part. Also I have no clue how to code games please take my advice with a grain of salt.

They have adapted google maps, just like Flight Simulator did it in 2020
Idk if you could pick something as detailed as your neighborhood, but you could probably pick the main areas in or around the cities.
Given how detailed satellite images are these days, plus how detailed Google maps have become over the years, it shouldn't be that difficult to implement a satelite/google map rendition into a game. Have it use Google maps and satellite images when the player searches for a particular area to find a starting location. Search a location, take a very large section of the area around the searched location, have player pick a location within that zone to start their game, once chosen you use the satellite images to render a more finely detailed map for the player to pick their starting building and the area to play in.
It's not like your playing a game in a 3D rendered image of your city. It's a top-down map. It seems easy to use a satellite image instead of making your own maps, levels, locations with buildings, streets, rivers, oceans, etc in fine detail.
But I could be very wrong given the fact that I have never tried doing it personally. Just the idea seems very much doable given the amount of data that is easily and quickly accessible at any moment.

We used to joke and talk a lot about how our store would be perfect for surviving the zombie apocalypse.....so my new favorite thing in this game is finding all of our nearby store locations in here and rating them on "zombie survival-ness"" xD Turns out my hometown store....not...not as good as we thought....
I played that area my rng sucked I had no first aid kits but I just deconstructed building which honestly is so much then gathering resources
I was extremely interested in this game, until I saw swimming burrowing zombies on day 2.

I live about 10 miles away from where Fort Leobouf was built during the Civil War, it too was a Star shaped fort
I mean, probably any fort built during that time that was larger was a star fort, because it allowed for overlapping fields of fire with guns and cannons.

on the topic of logistics and strategy games, it would be awesome if you come back to playing Empires of the Undergrowth a lot has changed since and new stuff are still on the way, really reccomend if you play on Freeplay mode with as many enemies as possible

Look lil bro, your like 12 years old, idk if that's even possible. But lets just imagine for a moment that you actually have that ability... I have a fantastic plan for you.
You make videos about you irl building this huge neighborhood size fortress, make tons of content on the whole process of planning it and building it. By the time that it's finally finished, you would have gained so many subs on yt that the game devs list the fortress that you built as being a special starting location in the game for every player to be able to play there anytime they want.
You will get so many subscribers, you will be famous, you'll get rich, and then bc your so famous on yt, you can invite Barron to the fortress that you built, and he will actually accept your invitation to see it irl.

I tried playing in a bastion fortress (the Citadel Fortress) in Halifax Nova Scotia. But it didn't render properly. It rendered the walls as a building, so it was impossible to play. :(
